“So I guess it’s not too crazy that she didn’t recognize us. Still,” he glances at the door, “she’s going to figure it out sooner orlater.”

“Could this be bad?” I askhim.

He grins at me. “Nah. Fuckit.”

I laugh. Typical Will. “Seriously though. We both kissed her, and we’re the fucking owners of this place. Could be groundsfor…”

“For what?” he asks. “Sexual harassment? She was working at a sexclub.”

“Goodpoint.”

“Besides, she liked it when I kissed her. I don’t know about youthough.”

“Watch it,” I say. “I got there first, remember. My mountain and allthat.”

“Nope, we’re pastthat.”

“Please. If you think she likes you better, you’reinsane.”

“That whole quiet and solid thing doesn’t impressher.”

I roll my eyes. “And your brash abrasiveness isbetter?”

He grins at me and we both laugh together. “Anyway, I just wanted you to know.” He picks up a stack of papers. “Shall we get back toit?”

“Guessso.”

We dive back into it, though my mind is totally elsewhere. I can’t believe that Tori is in this building, nearby, right now. I could walk into her department and see her this instant if I wantedto.

That would be totally weird. But it’s a nicethought.

We dig back into working, going over logistical stuff for this new Dustin kid, but my mind’s still stuck on Tori. I keep tasting her, like a ghost on my tongue, sweet and soft. The thought of Will kissing her and tasting her honestly doesn’t bother me. I thought it might at first, but I can’t seem to make myself mind. Really, I’m happy toshare.

Mostly I’m afraid I won’t see her again, though finding out that she works at this company… thathelps.

The hours wear on and finally we’re both exhausted, ties loosened, jackets tossed casually over the backs ofchairs.

“Let’s go back tonight,” I say suddenly, out ofnowhere.

Will takes it in stride. “It’s her last nightthere.”

“So let’s go. All ofus.”

“Three nights in a row? You think we can get the wholegang?”

I nod. “I think wecan.”

“How?”

“Tell them it’s her lastnight.

He grins and bursts out laughing. “You’re really not jealous, areyou?”

I shake my head. “Areyou?”

“Weirdly,no.”

“So let’sgo.”
