“Oh, yeah, we look good together,” Felix murmured but Jonah couldn’t even look at the screen. He was too consumed by the feeling of Felix’s warm palm against his abs and the soft tickle of his hair against his cheek.
Jonah breathed shallowly, head swimming with desire. Did Felix have any idea how badly Jonah wanted him?
“You’re tense again,” Felix said, his breath soft as he leaned in to press his lips to Jonah’s cheek. Jonah closed his eyes and prayed for strength.
The shutter clicked again.
When Felix was done pushing Jonah this way and that, he shifted onto his back, looking through the photos. “Want to see?” he asked, holding an arm out so Jonah could tuck into the crook of it once again.
“Nah. I need to get some sleep,” Jonah said. “You pick the one you like best and post it. I trust you.”
“Okay.” Felix immediately reached for the lamp, clicking it off and plunging the room into darkness. “I can go in the bathroom if my screen will bother you. Shouldn’t take me too long though.”
“You’re fine.” Jonah turned away from Felix and closed his eyes.
Jonah tried to quiet his mind but even after Felix had set his phone aside and stretched out beside Jonah, he felt restless.
Yeah, he really should have jerked off. He needed to talk to Felix about giving him some alone time in the future.
“You really are tense today. Nervous about the game?” Felix settled a hand on his bare shoulder and Jonah resisted the urge to lean into it.
They’d drawn the heavy curtains over the windows and turned out the lights. The room was so dark Felix shouldn’t have been able to see Jonah’s body at all but either he’d suddenly developed cat-like night vision or he just knew Jonah so well, he could sense his tension some other way.
“Some,” Jonah admitted. “I mean, it’s always a little nerve-racking. Especially when I know our lineup isn’t as solid as it has been in previous years.”
“It is.” Felix scooted closer. “But we’ll do our best. That’s all we can do, right?”
“Yeah.”
Felix squeezed his shoulder, then slipped his arm around Jonah’s waist. He burrowed closer, his hair brushing Jonah’s upper back in a way that was both ticklish and arousing.
“We’ll get through it together,” he whispered against Jonah’s skin.
Jonah bit his lip at the sensation. He could feel the low pulse of arousal in his groin, his body conditioned to getting off on game days.
But he liked the feel of Felix’s arm around him, the heavy weight of his muscles pressed against Jonah’s ribs, anchoring him to the bed.
He liked it too much to get up and jerk off in the shower now.
So he closed his eyes and tried to slow his breathing, willing his tense muscles to relax and soften.
“Together,” he whispered and he thought, before he slipped into sleep, that he heard Felix echo that.
Fisher Cats’ Hale and Brewer Engaged: College Sweethearts or Fake Relationship?
On the eve of the first-in-series between the Toronto Fisher Cats and Montreal Lynx in this first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Cats organization sent out a press release announcing the engagement of their top D-pair, explaining that personal events in Jonah Brewer’s life led to them moving up their timetable.
Perhaps those “personal events” have something to do with Hale and Brewer’s visit to the hospital recently. Could it be an ill family member? A health crisis for a surrogate carrying their future children? Online speculation from fans has reached a fever pitch.
But the organization’s statement makes it clear they support the relationship and subtly addresses concerns that Hale’s stint in rehab earlier this season and subsequent sobriety won’t be put in jeopardy by the new—or not so new?—relationship.
The press release states, “Not only is their engagement built on the foundation of a friendship that began in minor hockey, Felix Hale and Jonah Brewer have navigated playing together and maintaining a close personal connection since their days of college hockey at the University of Toronto. We are confident that such a longstanding relationship will be nothing but beneficial to Felix in his recovery and that the relationship will only improve their on-ice performance.”
But reactions to the news are mixed.
A source within the organization stated on conditions of anonymity, “Legit? No way. Hale and Brewer are definitely lying about their relationship. This whole thing is a PR stunt to soften the public’s perception of Hale’s drunk driving scandal last fall.”
One fan commented on the team’s social media post, “Hale & Brewer are so adorable together! We’ve all seen the chemistry they have on and off the ice and I’m so glad they finally feel comfortable being out about their relationship!”
