She scrunches up her nose. “Not me.”
“That’s okay, I still like you.” I wink.
“You can teach me poker if you come to boxing.”
“Deal. On one condition.” My voice drops.
“What?”
I stand, stepping behind her, gathering her hair in my hands and dropping it to one side as I bring my lips to her skin that sits between her neck and shoulder.
She shivers and an eruption of goosebumps scatters her skin.
“It’s strip poker,” I add darkly.
“Oh.”
“Tonight.”
“It’s not Thursday.” Her voice wavers.
I like how she remembers my weekly game night. It’s sweet, like her.
“I’d rather play with you. Teaching you––”
“You mean watching me lose,” she interrupts.
“Your clothes…Yes.”
“Sounds unfair.” She pouts playfully.
“I’ll make sure it’s fair, so I’ll lose mine too.”
She’s silent. Thinking about the proposition.
“I’m down.”
“Good. In my shower, now.”
I lean down and pick her up, throwing her over my shoulder, and heading directly to my bathroom.
She squeals. “You haven’t eaten your breakfast.”
“Don’t worry about me. I will enjoy you as my first meal before I get back to work.”
Her body softens in my arms. She gives up the fight. She likes the idea of my mouth on her just as much as I do.
Chapter 20
Nova
“You what?” Summer shrieks.
I cover my ears.
“I stayed over at a guy’s house,” I repeat before dropping my hands and grabbing a bottle of water from the refrigerator and a bag of grapes. I’m hungrier than usual since my stay with Jeremy last night.
“Did you go all the way?”
