Page 12 of Falling for Sierra

“They’re the only ones that deliver. If you’re desperate not to go out, or cook, they’re the only option.” She closed the bathroom door and turned on the shower. She hadn’t needed a shower before but now she did. Sweat and other things made her sticky and she needed to clean up before going out.

A knock sounded on the door.

“Yes?”

“Mind if I join you? I could use cleaning up a little myself.”

“Sure… but keep your hands to yourself.” She let him in. “I’m hungry and you seem to keep delaying food.”

“Once. I delayed us once.” Blake followed her into the shower, closing the door behind himself. “Are you saying it wasn’t worth it?”

“I said nothing of the kind, only that you delayed us. I suspect you would be happy for a repeat performance.”

A sexy smile crept across his face. “If that was an offer, I’d love one. I’d also love to try shower sex with you.” He took a step closer.

Sierra held up one hand to stop him. “Once I could handle, but I need to get something to eat before we go for another round.”

His stomach chose that moment to rumble. She quirked one brow and looked down at his belly.

“Sounds like part of you feels the same way.”

“Part of me may, but not all of me.” He glanced pointedly a little farther down to where he was erect and ready for more.

“Hold on to that thought. We can see about satisfying him after I’ve gotten something to eat.”

A playful glint lit his eyes, and she had no doubt what he was thinking.

“And before you tell me you’ve got something for me to eat. Ha-ha. Food not play is my priority, before I waste away, or worse pass out.”

She turned her back on him and stepped under the hot spray. Tipping her head back she let the water cascade down her body for a moment before reaching for the net ball and bottle of liquid soap.

“Here, let me do that for you.” Blake picked up the bottle before she could and took the poof from her hand. She turned around and watched as he squirted a small amount, then sniffed the soap. “Hmm. Vanilla and cinnamon. That’s why you smell so delicious I want to eat you alive.”

“There’s something we haven’t tried yet.” She grinned as she all but invited him to do for her what she’d just refused to do for him, at least for now.

“We’ll get to it, no worries.” Blake made short work of soaping her up and rinsing her off with the shower sprayer.

“You’re turn,” she said reaching for the sprayer head.

“I can do it, you go get ready,” he said.

She stepped out of the shower and started drying off.

“Something comfortable,” he’d called out as she wrapped a towel around herself. “No heels.”

“What if I want heels?”

“If you really want them, I won’t get mad. It’s really not up to me what you wear. I just wanted you to be comfortable and I can’t imagine how uncomfortable they’ve got to be to wear for hours on end. You’ve been on them long enough.”

He had a point. She’d been wearing heels all day and when she’d walked in the door earlier, her feet had been throbbing and she couldn’t wait to get out of them. The only thing that made her want to wear them now was that he’d said no. She shook her head and forced herself not to let her rebellious nature cause her more grief and pain than it was worth. She left him to finish showering and went in the bedroom to get dressed.

CHAPTER 7

Blake followed her into the small diner she’d chosen for dinner. He glanced around and wondered if he ever would have come in here if he’d been the one picking restaurants. Probably not, the place was old and outdated, the flooring and tabletops worn, but clean. But of the perhaps thirty tables, there were only a few open. He knew enough to know that said more about the food than the conditions.

Sierra led them to an empty booth in the corner and sat, sliding into the bench seat. He stared down at the table for a moment trying to decide where to sit. He should slide in across from her, but he really wanted to sit beside her. He wanted to be able to drop one hand on her leg, to maybe hold her hand under the tabletop.

He blinked and wondered where that thought had come from as she looked up at him, wide-eyed and waiting. He sat across from her, opting to be able to watch her as they talked instead.
