Something rushes through me before my hand comes around his neck, my leg sweeping behind him.

SLAM!

Blinking, my eyes fall to Vlad on the floor. He chuckles, “Now I know you’re jealous, Merlo.”

“Am not.” My eyes narrow.

Am I?

“Keep using that power, Mia.” He stands, pushing off the mat. “It’s all you got. Don’t hide it.” He crooks his fingers again. “Let’s go.”

I’m not sure how long Vlad and I spend sparring with each other, but by the end, we’re both a sweaty mess. But I feel so much better. It’s not until the pain in my hand comes back that I know it’s time to call it a night.

Vlad locks up the room as sunlight fills the foyer. We’re both so tired, we don’t say a thing as he walks me to Feliks’ bedroom door. It feels like the end of a twisted first date, and this night with Vlad makes nothing clearer. But at least I wasn't alone. At least I'm not powerless.

“Goodnight, Mia,” he says. “I’m here if you need me.” Fighting the urge. The pull. The need. His deep dark eyes are the last thing I see before I close the door to Feliks’ room.

My back hits the door, my head hitting it next. I want my lips on his again. My body craves him, but I need to figure out what I’m doing. I can’t be with Feliks one night and Vlad another.

Can I?

What would that make me?

A whore.

Just like Dominik says. And like the whore I am, when I go to shower off our late-night session, it’s hard not to part my legs. It's hard not to imagine Vlad’s firm, powerful hands between my thighs as I rub myself to what we shared.

A moment of angry bliss.

SLAM!

A bang startles me out of my dream.

“You fucking idiot!” Dom’s voice rips through the walls of the home.

CRASH!

And it sounds like he’s on a rampage. Vlad’s voice follows, rumbling through the wall, but I can’t hear what he’s saying, Lev’s voice in the distance.

“You could’ve killed her!” Dom growls.

SMASH!

My brows furrow before I push out of the bed, walking to Feliks' closed bedroom door. Cracking it open, the guys aren’t in sight, but I sure as hell hear them.

“We kept her safe.” Vlad’s voice is clearer with the door open.

“But you’re the ones to bring her into danger!” Dom yells.

Tip-toeing to the grand staircase, I try not to interrupt whatever’s going on. I’m relieved to see Lev and Dom, but… are they talking about me?

“Get off him, Dom.” Lev’s voice is next. “It wasn’t his fault. I’m the one that brought Mia to Bible Burger and fed her vodka.” And that confirms it. This is about me. “Feliks too. Not Vlad.”

“So you all had some sort of soiree without me?” Dom asks. “Guess what, Reznikov? Feliks isn’t here. And that’s on you.”

SMASH!
