‘So you and Korben… it’s getting serious?’ Harrison enquired, sipping on his whisky.

‘Well…’ Michael said, momentarily unsure how much of his hand to reveal.

‘Come on, you’re both totally in love!’ Max bellowed, his raised voice drawing the disapproving attention of two older Daddies over by the window.

‘Yeah, I can’t deny it,’ Michael said, fully appreciating that there was no point attempting to be coy in front of two of his best Daddy friends. ‘Hey, look at us. Three Daddies with three Littles. Who would have guessed it?’

‘True,’ Harrison replied. ‘We’ve all come a long way since our younger days, that’s for sure. But as much as I loved our time on campus as young bucks, I wouldn’t ever want to go back to my life before Benji. Not now. Not now I know just how amazing life can be.’

‘Hell yeah, brother,’ Max said, finishing his whisky. ‘I’ll be real, I don’t know where I’d be without Louie in my life. He might be the sassiest boy I’ve met, and sometimes it can even spill into being a brat. Which I kind of think he does on purpose sometimes, but that’s another story. But I wouldn’t change Louie. Not one bit of him. Daddies need their boy. And I’m so glad you found yours, Michael.’

‘I was beginning to think it might not happen,’ Michael said. ‘You know, with the investments taking up so much of my life. It was like I was becoming a workaholic. I mean, don’t get me wrong – I still put the hours in. But now that I know I’ve got someone to care for outside of work, it gives me that little nudge I need to know when to call it a day.’

Michael watched as Max and Harrison exchanged a look between themselves.

‘Damn, you were right Max,’ Harrison said, a smile on his face. ‘Our brother truly does think Korben is his Forever boy.’

‘Hey I never said Forever,’ Michael said, his protestations making both Max and Harrison fall back in their armchairs and laugh.

Together, the three of them had been through plenty of ups and downs.

But Michael loved the fact that all three of them now were in good places in their lives. There would always be challenges, and Michael was enough of a realist to know that even with Korben in his life he would still have all the pressures of work still to contend with.

But Michael was grateful to have Korben to nurture and care for.

As he reclined in his chair and accepted a freshly poured whisky from the attentive server, Michael began to think about how soon him and Korben would take the final step together…

I’m ready, and Korben’s ready.

But it has to be the right moment.

I want Korben to remember our first time together for the rest of his days…

Michael was abruptly brought out of his daydreaming by the sound of Max and Harrison laughing.

‘Michael, you’ve gone soft,’ Harrison bellowed. ‘I’d know that look on your face anywhere. You were dreaming about your boy. Hell, I don’t blame you. I catch myself doing it all the time.’

‘Trust me, I have not gone soft in my business life,’ Michael said, barking back. ‘You know that asshole Phillip Neal?’

‘The guy you used to work with?’ Harrison asked, leaning forward in his armchair.

‘Yeah,’ Michael continued. ‘He’s been making some kind of move against me. I don’t know what it is yet, but when I find out I’m going to make him pay. Michael Dornan might have his own baby boy, but no one will ever think I’m soft when it comes to matters relating to money.’

‘Hey, I believe you,’ Harrison said, chuckling. ‘But brother… your cell phone’s flashing up a message from Korben. You might want to answer it.’

Michael rolled his eyes at being gently teased by his old friend.

With both Harrison and Max chuckling away together, Michael picked up the cell phone and saw that it was indeed Korben who had messaged him.

The tough guy move would have been to put the phone away without even opening the message. But Michael knew that despite their banter, neither Max nor Harrison expected him to not respond to his darling boy…

I’m glad you’re having a great time, darling boy. I’m having a good evening with the Daddies too. Remember – not too much ice cream! You know how your tummy doesn’t like it when you have too much. Can’t wait to see you tomorrow, DADDY XoXoXo.

Michael smiled as he sent the message and then reclined in his chair. It was time to show both Harrison and Max that he hadn’t totally lost his edge.

With that, Michael motioned over to the server for a fresh round of double whiskeys on the rocks. It was time to sink some more booze and let the good times roll.

‘We don’t get much time to hang out like we used to,’ Michael declared. ‘So how about we make this a night to remember?’
