His arm brushed against mine and I jumped, remembering what he said about the car, and needing to break it in before I leaned in.

“Did you mean what you said about the filthy things in the car?” I whispered as everyone’s attention turned to Jax and a problem he was having with his car.

Chase gave a sharp nod, the only indication that he heard me as he laughed along with everyone.

Then I felt it, a large, warm hand moving along my thigh under the table, the calm look on his face making it appear like nothing was happening. Fingers trailed up my leg before movingback down, the slow movement sending a line of heat down my spine to my core.

He repeated the movement, squeezing my thigh once before his hand fell away.

The cocky grin on his face made me angry and excited. How did he manage to do these things without anyone noticing?

I figured I might as well try it, too. I moved my hand to his leg, brushing up his thigh, until I felt the rigidness of his cock.

The crew talked around us, and I leaned in, keeping a safe distance. A distance I would keep with any of them.

“Are you that turned on just from touching my thigh?”

“Do you think I would be for someone else here? And if you say yes, I will drag you to the bathroom in front of everyone and make sure it’s clear what we will be doing.”

“Shhh,” I said, trying to keep my face calm as I looked around. The crew was not listening at all, lost in their own conversations. “You can’t say things like that.”

“And you can’t accuse me of getting hard touching you while I’m thinking of someone else.” He leaned in a little farther. “And just to make it clear, that’s all for you. There will be no more comparing me to him, because I know that pretty little head is trying to.”

He wasn’t wrong. I was on full alert now, trying to see if there was any sign he was like Jesse in any way. So far, though, I couldn’t see any comparison.

“Even if you come out on top?”

His hand flexed on my thigh. “I could be on top or bottom. Both have their advantages.”

I moved my hand a little harder against him, liking the way the calm exterior broke the smallest amount as he leaned back, closing his eyes for only a second before sitting back up.

I finally let my hand drop when we ordered, talking to the crew and getting our food. I brushed my hand over his thigh again, moving it along his length one more time.

“Alright,” he said, pushing his chair back. “I think I’m going to head out.”

The crew all nodded, apparently in agreement, as they gathered up their things and got up.

“Hey wait, do I get to drive the Hellcat?” I asked, trying to sound more interested in the car than him. But that was hard to do when he stretched, the hoodie moving up to show off a sliver of abs and waist. My face flushed, embarrassment and heat covering me when I remembered I had basically licked that part of him.

“You’re trying to be all sweet and use me for my car now, aren’t you?”

Fox laughed. “You bought her dream car. She’s suddenly going to be a little angel, so she gets to drive it all the time.”

The crew laughed, and I smiled. At least they knew me well enough to know it was my dream car, so there would be no question of why I was suddenly so interested in it.

Or more accurately, Chase’s plans for what we were going to doinit.

“Fine,Hellcat. I’ll let you drive it to the apartments, and then I will take it home.”

“Fine, but just for the ankle biter comment, I’m taking the long way there.”

He winked as the crew walked out.

“We are not taking the long way because I am tired and would like to get to my bed as fast as possible,” Quinn said. Carly and Ash quickly agreed.

“Lucky for you girls, we can accommodate that request,” Ransom said, pulling Quinn close to his side.

Something pulled at my heart. The care and love Ransom had for Quinn, the love they all had for the girls, filling me with a stab of jealousy. Sometimes, I just wanted to know what that felt like. There seemed to be no end to what they would do for each other, and I wasn’t sure how they came to love each other so unconditionally. With Jesse, there were always conditions to how much he cared, or seemed to love me each day. There was a limit to what he would do for me, depending on the day.
