“Stop. You’re not goin’ anywhere. This is the safest place for you. And those assholes will never find you. If they happen to, this is a bomb shelter. They could drop an atomic bomb on this place, and it won’t blow. The house will, but not this place. As long as you stay in here and with us, you’ll be safe. Trust me.” She was so determined not to have anyone hurt because of her that she would put herself in danger. Fucking hated that but understood it at the same time. But that didn’t mean that I would allow her to put herself in the line of fire. Fuck that.
“But, Raid. If the Ravage MC gets in the target of these men, I…”
“Stop it.” This came from my brother on the couch. “You’re Raid’s. You’re Ravage. We take care of our own, and don’t give us shit about it. Now we need to do this; time’s wasting.”
My lip tipped up. “What he said.”
She was fighting something inside of her, and it felt like forever until she let out a huge breath and nodded. “Let’s get this done with.” As she moved to the couch and sat in the middle, I moved to one side of her, and Liam sat on the other.
“Brother? This shit is gonna be fun,” Ax said as he sat next to my side of the U. A wide smile came across his face. “You and Liam fightin’ over the same girl, huh? I’ll be damned if it ain’t been a while.”
“Shut the fuck up,” I growled low. This wasn’t the time or place for this conversation. “There’s a lot to go over. Just listen.”
My brother folded his arms across his chest and leaned back. “Talk then.” He gave me a look, telling me this was not over, and we would be talking about it.
Sooner rather than later.

LIAM
Reaching over, I clasped Nyx’s hand and feathered my fingers through hers. Pain came through her words as she cut herself open wide to these two men who were practically strangers to her.
I’d, of course, knew these two, but hadn’t seen Ax since that last night I was with Raid.
That was a clusterfuck, and to be with Indie after all these years, crazy.
Had to admit I was impressed at the men’s attentiveness to Nyx and even the questions they asked. They really did care about her which was refreshing. It was why Screech talked back at her place when she wouldn’t. The entire Ravage MC would have Nyx’s back, and that would be worth putting up with Raid and having the past creep up on me. She was worth everything.
Ax stood up. “Alright. We’ll look into this on our side. You lay low here for a few days.” He stared right at Nyx and waited until she nodded.
“Good.”
Deke stood, his focus on Screech. “You even try to hack Ravage system, and I’ll hang you by your balls, then skin them along with the rest of your body. Got me?”
His hands went out in a placating gesture. “I don’t have a fucking death wish. But I do need to go to my place and get some of my things. Will that be possible?”
Raid chimed in. “We’ll get your shit and get Liam to deal with his.” It was utterly frustrating the way he talked like he was going to fix all the problems in the world. How he was going to take mine and make it all go away. I could handle my own shit.
“I’ll cover you at the club,” Ax told Raid. “But we need to step out and talk.”
“Got it.” Raid rose from the couch, then looked down, his eyes lasering in on Nyx and my hand. His cheek twitched as anger burned in his eyes. “I’ll be back, and we’ll get the supplies.”
Raid leaned down and touched his lips to Nyx and then left the room with Ax chuckling and Deke shaking his head.
Like I didn’t already know this was a bomb ready to implode. Raid was … well, Raid. And he loved her. Same as me.
Screech rose from the recliner and lifted his arms over his head in a stretch, practically touching the ceiling. “I’m gonna head to one of the bedrooms and stretch out on the bed for a bit. You good?” he asked Nyx.
She gave him a small smile. “Yeah. Liam here will keep me company.”
“Yeah … I’m sure he will. I’ll need to remember my damn noise canceling headphones. That’ll need to be at the top of my list,” he said, turning and walking toward the hallway, then disappearing from sight.
“Come here, baby girl.” I didn’t wait for Nyx to respond, just released her hand, picked her up, and put her in my lap, her head resting on my chest and my nose smelling her hair. “Fuck, I missed this.”
She let out a huge breath as her body relaxed into mine. “I’ve missed you too, Liam. While I don’t want you in danger, and I’m pissed you came, I’m so fucking happy you’re here.”
“Don’t be pissed. It just worked out, and I’m fuckin’ happy it did. Seeing you. Touching you. Smelling you. Fuck, baby girl, I knew I missed you, but not until I saw you when you opened that door did I realize how much.”
