“Well?” Beth calls from the other side of the bathroom door before she bursts in on me.
My eyes meet hers in the mirror before they both dart to the pregnancy tests on the vanity. All my insides are in knots as reality sets in.
I’m pregnant.
“Oh shit,” I hear Beth curse beside me, but my pulse is roaring so loud in my ears that it feels like a faraway echo.
This can’t be happening.
“Will…”
It’s impossible.
“Willow!”
Shaking myself out of my shocked stupor, I focus back on her. Beth gestures towards the door of my flat as the doorbell rings again and my phone chirps somewhere in the distance.
“Are you expecting someone?” she asks, already heading for the door as I look back down at the counter, asking myself, “What the fuck am I going to do?”
