Harley walked away before Blue could respond. Still, her hand automatically went to the locket touching the base of her throat. She’d spent more time looking at it than she cared to admit. Especially after the events today. But she had work to do so she couldn’t get distracted by that.

Unfortunately, the time dragged by. While the Ravens usually kicked back at the clubhouse every night most nights were tame. This was one of them.

She ended up cleaning the bar area as a way to stay distracted. Harley was able to handle most of the drink orders. The only time she had to step in and help was if the sweet butts ordered mixed drinks.

“Blue?”

She turned, shocked to find Kylie standing there. As the old lady of Everest, the size difference between the two couldn’t be more extreme. Everest was built like a mountain. By her estimation, he was only a few inches below seven feet in height and built like a tank. The total opposite of Kylie who could only be described as pixie-like in statue. Kylie was barely over five feet with curves that would make a pin-up model jealous.

Realizing she was staring like a loon, she smiled. “Sorry. I was lost in thought. What can I get you?”

“Nothing. I was hoping that you could join me and Layla for a drink,” she replied.

“Oh?” Blue was startled not sure how to respond.

Technically she hadn’t finished her shift last night. She didn’t want to leave Harley by herself again.

“Um...sure, let me check with Everest—”

“I already checked with that lug head. It’s slow tonight but if it picks up we promise not to hold you hostage,” Kylie promised.

Realizing the only correct answer would be agreement, Blue nodded. “Okay. Give me a second to let Harley know.”

“Sounds good. Be sure to bring a drink with you.”

Blue smiled before turning to walk down the bar to Harley. She could tell her friend was pretending not to have noticed what had just transpired.

“Bailing on me again?” Harley teased.

“I have to be in a damn alternate reality right now,” Blue mumbled.

Harley reached out and pinched her. Hard.

“Ouch,” Blue cried out. “What the hell?”

“Nope. You are wide awake,” Harley retorted.

“That hurt,” Blue complained as she rubbed the spot. “That had better not leave a bruise.”

“If it does I’m sure Stone and Rock will take turns kissing it and making it better,” Harley teased. “But seriously. I have this. If it gets too much to handle, I’ll let you know.”

Blue nodded. “Thanks, I think.”

“You’re welcome,” Harley replied with a hip bump.

Blue turned and grabbed a bottle of water before heading over to where Kylie and Layla sat. They weren’t the only old ladies of patched members, but they were the only ones attached to officers of the club. She didn’t know them well because she didn’t always see them. Thankfully it was only Kylie and Layla at the table. This all felt weird enough.

She reached for the empty chair and took a seat.

“Water?” Layla asked with a raised brow.

She was Viking's old lady, and yes, that was what he looked like.

“Yes,” Blue replied. “I’m not much of a drinker.”

Truth be told, she didn’t drink at all. Her mother had drunk enough alcohol and drugs for the both of them, ten times over.

Kylie reached over and touched her arm. “Relax. We aren’t going to bite. We’re just welcoming you into the old ladies' club.”
