A rage within me ignites. Ryan knows exactly what nerve he just struck by calling me that. That fucking asshole.

I want nothing more than to throw a punch and knock his ass out. But I stop myself. That would be disrespectful to Jade. That’s the last thing I want to do. But that instinct might soon fade away. As the rage in me grows, Ryan looks more and more punchable.

“Say that again, Ryan,” I growl.

“Nothing is bothering me.”

The words don’t make sense to me as I’m flung awake. In my groggy state, the next words make even less sense. They just hit my ears like a collection of mumbles.

“What is –” I groan to myself.

But I cut myself off as I notice Jade. Her face is buried deep into my chest, her breathing muffled against my skin. My arms are already wrapped around her.

I squeeze her soft, tiny body against me. She moans in delight, again muffled by my chest. Her soft skin is pressed against mine and feeling her whole form move with each breath… It's euphoric. I could see myself getting used to waking up like this.

I bend my head down to kiss the top of her head.

But then the realization hits me. I lift my head up and see that Jade and I are alone in bed together. Did Logan and Ryan both leave in the early morning?

“You are such a coward!”

I look towards the door and see Ryan, nude, standing between a fully-dressed Logan and the door. This is quite the sight.

My brain slowly starts to process what I heard. I pray it wasn’t Ryan calling Logan a coward. That’s not how I want to start this morning.

“Say that again, Ryan,” Logan says sternly.

Fuck.

“You, Logan Walker, are a grade A, certified –” Ryan starts to say.

I let go of Jade and leap out of bed. As I do, I realize that I’m also naked. But as I charge to them, there’s no time to cover up. I’ll have to break this up with my cock swinging around.

I can’t believe this is how I have to start my morning. Breaking up a fight between these two assholes. We should all be sleeping in with Jade and enjoying her when she wakes up. Not whatever this is.

If I had to place my bets, I imagine Ryan said something that he thought was funny but only succeeded in pissing off Logan. If I had a nickel for every time something like that happened… I’d have enough money to start a brand-new company and escape these two assholes.

As I move towards them, I can see Logan’s hand already bawling into a fist. I need to end this before something that can’t be taken back happens.

“Hey! Assholes!” I call. “Knock it off!”

“You think I’m a coward?” Logan asks. “You think I’m a coward?”

“No, you dickhead,” Ryan responds, taking a step towards Logan. “I know you’re a coward.”

“Both of you just need to cool down,” I interject as I get to them. “Take a couple of deep breaths and tell me what started all of this.”

“I’m no fucking coward.”
