“Sweeter than what I have in mind?”

She giggles. “I’ll have to try it first.”

I smirk and lean my face closer to hers. I wait for her to kiss me, but she places her lips on my right cheek instead.

“That’s it?”

She places a finger on my lips. “You’ll get full too soon.”

“Who knew you’d be such a tease?”

She laughs and continues to enjoy the cheese board, while I admire her. I don’t even get to eat much of what I prepared because she has all my attention. Every bit of her is just so… mesmerizing.

Afterwards, we walk down to the beach. She lets go of my hand and goes to dip her toes in the water. It’s enough for me to sit back in the sand and just watch her.

She just stands there, letting the water wash over her legs and the wind blow through her now messy curls. I can see she’s enjoying the smell of the ocean because she has her eyes closed reverently. She stretches out her arms as if she’s trying to reach for the sky.

Soon, she comes back from the water and lays next to me. The wind makes her dress stick to her legs. All I can think about is how much I want them wrapped around my waist.

I hear her sigh. “I haven't been to the beach in years. I love it.”

“Want to go for a swim?”

“I didn’t bring a swimsuit.”

“That’s okay. I don’t mind nudity.”

She slaps my arm. “You wish!”

I laugh and try to grasp her hands. She still tries to smack me around, but we end up having a lighthearted wrestling match. In the end, I win by having her purposely straddling me as I hold her wrists in place.

When she realizes our position, she blushes. I wiggle my eyebrows and wink at her.

“Eager much?” I ask.

“You started it!”

“My intentions were pure, sunshine.”

“There’s nothing pure about that devilish smile of yours.”

She gets off me, to my disappointment. The fun moment turns into a calm one as we stare at the water, enjoying the sunset as it quickly becomes dusk. We spend some time relaxing on the beach, sitting in comfortable silence.

Eventually, I help her up by holding her hand, keeping it clasped with mine as we walk towards the pier. The crowds are small on the beach, but it’s still lively with kids running around, circus music blaring, and other couples doing the same thing as us.

Strolling around the pier and having her hand in mine feels natural. So natural, that I pull her towards me to sneak a kiss on her luscious lips. At first, she’s caught by surprise but soon follows the movement of my tongue.

Her lips are just as I imagined they’d be. Just one taste, and I’m greedy for more. I cup her face and slowly savor her, tasting the champagne and the grapes. I don’t care if we’re in the middle of the boardwalk. All I care about is savoring every inch of her mouth.

We break the kiss to catch our breath. Our foreheads press together, and I can feel the electrifying pull between our lips, wanting more of each other.

An hour later, I find myself walking her up to her apartment. I’m trying to squeeze in as much leftover time as possible. I’m enjoying myself too much.

She opens the door to her apartment but doesn’t walk inside. She looks up at me with doe eyes before pecking my lips.

“Thank you for today, Ryan.”

“Of course, sunshine.”
