“I’ve never been on a yacht before,” she muses.
I smile. Good. Something in me feels deeply satisfied that I’ll be the first man to take her out on one.
I pull into a spot and turn the car off before getting out to open Jade’s door before she can. She smiles up at me as she takes my hand and stands up.
We walk towards the dock where my yacht is berthed. Once we get close enough, a member of my crew walks down the gangway to greet us.
“Sebastian, how are you today?” I ask.
“I’m good, sir. It’s a beautiful day to go out there.”
“Exactly my thoughts.”
Jade and I walk up the gangway and step onto the boat.
“Wow, this is beautiful,” Jade says as she walks around, taking everything in. “It’s even fancier than I imagined a yacht to be.”
“Have you ever been out on the ocean?”
“No, never. I grew up in Colorado. The closest I’ve ever gotten was lounging on the beach.”
“Here,” I say, pulling a small bracelet out of my pocket. “This will help you with any seasickness.”
She holds out her wrist, and I gently fasten it on her, my fingers grazing her soft skin as I do.
“Thank you.”
“Of course,” I say, reaching out and tucking a stray curl behind her ear.
Her smile is so pure, so genuine, that it takes a lot of strength not to kiss her right at this moment. But I’m saving that for later.
I turn and signal to my crew that it’s time to take off.
“Do you want a drink?” I ask her as the yacht begins to move.
“I’d love one!”
I lead her towards a set of stairs and to the flybridge.
As we walk, I feel excited. There’s something different about Jade, I could tell from the moment I saw her sitting at that bar. I want to find out what that is.
“Oh, now this is amazing. If I were you, I’d take this thing out every single day and just chill up here,” she says as she looks around at the bar and lounge area.
“Believe me, it’s tempting.”
I approach the bar and grab a glass before turning to her. “I’m no bartender, but I know a few drinks. What can I make you?”
“Surprise me!”
“Okay, but don’t get your hopes up!”
I turn back to the bar and survey my options. Margarita it is. I grab the top-shelf tequila as well as a lime and a small bottle of simple syrup. I set all three on the counter and begin preparing one for both of us. After adding everything, I top it off with a couple of ounces of sour mix.
I walk over to where Jade is standing looking out at the water and hand her a glass. She immediately takes a sip and moans.
“This is delicious. Maybe you should be a bartender.”
“I’ll let Ryan and Logan know that I’m leaving the company.”
