Istare at myself in the mirror, noticing the dark circles under my eyes. I look like I haven’t slept in a week, and the truth is, I really haven’t.
Today will be the first day that I’m not either at work or hanging out with one of the guys in about three weeks. So basically since I met them.
It’s been an amazing three weeks, but I’m exhausted, among other confusing feelings. Which is why I’m excited to spend the day at home alone.
As I turn off the bathroom light and walk out into my living room, I hear a knock at my door. My body freezes, thinking one of the men decided to pull a spontaneous visit until I remember that I ordered pizza. A sigh of relief escapes me.
I fling open the door, and I’ve never been happier to see a pizza delivery guy in my life.
“Thank you,” I tell him, handing him a twenty and taking the box.
Despite being relieved that it wasn’t one of the men, a small part of me is actually disappointed. Yes, I need some alone time, but I already miss all three of them.
The fact that I miss them this much says a lot. I never get attached to a man this quickly, let alone three. There’s something exciting about that, albeit a bit scary.
I close the door and head back to the living room, setting the box on my coffee table before switching on the TV. Just as I sit down and start reaching to get a slice, my phone starts buzzing. It’s Kayla.
“Hey, girl, what’s up?” I answer.
“That’s all you have to say? I haven’t heard from you in like a week!”
“I’m sorry, things have been crazy.”
“Did work finally start giving you more responsibility?”
“Well, yes, a little.”
“A little? Well, then what’s keeping you so busy? Did you end up meeting some friends at that club opening a couple of weeks ago? You never even told me how it went!”
I’ve been avoiding telling Kayla about meeting Ethan, Ryan, and Logan, but I guess I can’t put it off any longer. I put my fear of judgment aside and begin.
“Well, I did actually meet some people. And don’t kill me for not telling you sooner.”
“That’s awesome! I’m so glad you have friends there now!”
“Yeah, well, they’re not exactly friends.”
“What do you mean?”
“Do you promise not to judge me?”
“Girl, when have I ever judged you?”
“I know, I know. But just promise.” I hear her sigh on the other end.
“Okay, I promise.”
“Okay, so that night I actually met three guys. They own a huge tech company together and they’re all best friends. And I’ve kind of been… dating all three of them since.”
“Holy fucking shit. No fucking way. Are you serious? You had a foursome?”
“Well, no. I’ve been dating them separately.”
“Oh, wait, really? How is that working? Like they’re all straight?”
“Yeah, they’re all straight. But there’s something else…”
“What else could there possibly be?”
