“I’m glad you could make it today, Ellie. You’re always working,” Darian said to one of the girls.

Ridge watched the flush covering the pretty woman’s face and how she and the other girls acted. He knew something was up.

He looked at the other men to see they’d noticed it, too. When he turned back, he caught Ellie shaking her head at Larkin. Larkin pressed her lips together and nodded. They didn’t know how to be covert very well.

Darian crossed his arms over his chest and stared at the girls. “All right, what’s going on?”

Ellie nudged Larkin in the side with her elbow and whispered no.

Ridge almost snorted out a laugh.

“Ellie?”

The woman bit down on her lip and shook her head slowly.

Darian sighed and looked at Larkin. “Baby girl?”

Larkin walked over and pulled him down so she could whisper in Darian’s ear.

All the girls looked sad, and he wondered what it could be to get this reaction.

Darian nodded and patted Larkin on the butt as he faced Ellie. “You will stay with us until we find you a job.”

Ellie shook her head slowly again.

Darian scowled. “Honey, you don’t have a choice. You’re a hard worker. It won’t be hard to find you a job. Plus, you can’t keep living out of a box and sleeping on your friend’s couch every night.”

“It’s very comfortable, Sir.”

Darian shook his head. “Why don’t you girls go upstairs, shower, and get dressed?”

“Can we bathe in the big tub? We’ll all fit.”

Darian looked at Gage and Kaleb and got their nods. “That’s fine, but I don’t want water all over the floor this time.”

Kaleb cleared his throat. “Or playing or showing them your kitties.”

Ridge had to bite the inside of his mouth when all six girls turned beet red.

“Oh my God, Daddy,” Aleena cried out. “I can’t believe you said that.”

Kaleb raised a brow. “Well, it’s true, isn’t it?”

The girls grabbed onto each other and scurried into the house.

Ridge waited until they were gone to start laughing. “God, the looks on their faces.”

The other men laughed.

“They have a hard time hiding anything from us,” Gage said. “It makes our lives easier and more interesting.”

Ridge just smiled. He was seeing the reason the men went for women with submissive personalities. He’d always liked that, too, but these girls were so precious and fun to be with.

“Let’s go into the office. I want to keep my eye on them and brainstorm with you guys.”

Ridge didn’t understand how he could watch the girls, but knowing his cousin, he had many things rigged to protect his little one.

Ridge was shocked to see the big-screen television turn on and then eight different views of the house.
