"You fucked up now. If you think you're about to get out of this you're out of your mind." He reaches down, grabs me by my hair and lifts me to my knees before he pulls his gun out and presses it to the side of my head.
I squeezed my eyes shut so tight I couldn't even get the tears out. Everything hurts.
I was about to die because of some fucked up plan my sister had set up.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Dominic's commanding voice boomed through the hallway and I sobbed in relief. Never would I have thought I'd be so relieved just to hear his voice.
"This bitch is going to die. She fucking stabbed me." The man retorted and pressed the gun harder to the side of my head.
"Get off her, James." Another voice.
When I open my eyes I realize it's Dominic's father, Antonio.
"Boss, you don't understand," James replied.
"I don't give a fuck what you don't understand, I know you've got my wife on her knees bleeding with a fucking gun to her head and if you don't let her go I'm going to have to skin you alive." Dominic snarled and took a step forward.
"I'm not going to tell you again James. That's my daughter-in-law and you're out of line." Antonio said and pulled his hand up to examine his nails. It didn't seem like he was too broken up about the fact that I was about to die. He was only doing this to keep the peace with his son.
James sighed hard and let go of my hair. The suddenness of it caused me to fall forward on my hands.
I crawled on my hands and knees toward and whimpered "Dominic".
"You're alright, Fay- Farrah." He said, trying to soothe.
A loud gasp from behind me captured my attention. I looked back to James and it seemed like something dawned on him.
"Faye? It's not her, that's not-"
A loud boom followed by a small flash of light exploded in the hallway. A stream of blood dripped from a hole in James' head a moment before he fell backward and twitched on the ground.
Dead before another word could come out of his mouth.
I can't even understand what I'm looking at until I look back up at Dominic to see him standing over me with the smoking gun in his hand. He'd killed him before he had a chance to spill the beans.
My eyes drifted up to Dominic's but there was no remorse, not a care in the world.
If I had any doubt how important it was for me to keep my secret, the dead man getting cold in the hallway was just another reminder that Dominic would do anything to make sure that no one knew I wasn't my sister.
CHAPTER 21
Dominic
All eyes were on me.
Even my father seemed to be surprised by just how quickly I was willing to end James' life.
"It sounded like he was trying to tell us something." My father squinted his eyes at me and tilted his head to the side.
"Whatever it was it wasn't as important as him realizing he fucked up when he put his hands on my wife," I replied keeping my voice even. The last thing I wanted him to realize was that I was hiding Faye's true identity from him.
"Seems that way now."
I sighed and put my gun back against the small of my back, the threat was already dealt with.
"Did you need anything else from me, Father? I have a woman to tend to." I glared down at Faye who was still staring at the man who lay dead on the ground.
"Handle your business son. I have a few errands to run. I'll be going to see Lionel later on. I expect you to show as well." My father nodded once before he turned on his heel and walked away from me. Right along with him, all the guards and people he showed up with walked out the doors.
