I’ve just learned that I have a son—and he’s a full-grown, nineteen-year-old. I’ve missed Jared’s entire childhood, but I’d give anything for a chance to know the man he’s become. So, I turn my life upside down to move to the small beachside town of Friendly, Georgia to be near him, giving up a prestigious surgical career to be the town’s new doctor.
But Jared’s not making a relationship easy, and small-town medicine is a lot tougher than I expected. Cara, the sassy hand model visiting from NYC, could be a nice distraction—if she hadn’t vowed to hate me for all eternity.

I’m tempted to throw in the (beach) towel, but I know a relationship with my son is worth fighting for. And I have a feeling Cara is, too.
