“No, she came from Shonkinite pack.”

“Fin. Did you not ever see the Obsidian pack’s alphas? They were the only wolves that looked like her. Beta Harlen can you get me the alpha books?” Olli turned to my beta and watched him as he went to the book shelves and brought him the two books.

It had been a long time since I had skimmed through those. My father had made me “read” them when I was in training but I didn’t really. I just turned the pages because I wasn’t interested in the history of the packs. Now Olli had piqued my interest in them. Was the Shonkinite pack not Nikita’s birth pack and if it wasn’t, was it the Obsidian? Because that was Kalila’s.

“Ah here it is.” Olli stood and handed me the first book of the histories of the packs. My eyes followed his finger to the description of the pack and then the picture of the two alphas in wolf form.

They both looked like Nikita. Fuck was she an alpha? And why the fuck was she raised as a warrior in the Shonkinite pack? I glanced up at Olli and he nodded.

“So, she is the last surviving heir of the Obsidian pack?” Harlen asked before I could. If I remember correctly. The first night of the party only the male beta came because the Luna of his pack had gone into labor.

If the pup that was born to them that night was Nikita then she would’ve been a lot younger than she is. I continued to read the book. This was the first alpha of this pack so this would be her descendants. Damn she was an alpha by birth. No wonder she was so strong and her wolf was just as big as mine.

I had only ever seen one other female born alpha and that was Nolen’s Luna. Glancing up to Olli and Harlen I stood with the book and continued to read about the Obsidian pack.

“So, that would mean that the pup that was being born during the party was her sibling.” Harlen’s voice floated into my consciousness.

“It would seem so. But there was another pup. A pup that was told to the pack had died during birth. What was suspicious was that they didn’t hold a funeral pyre for her. So the pack wondered what really happened to her.” Olli made me turn. Only a wolf part of the pack could know about that.

“Olli, was Obsidian your pack?” I stared at him and he held my gaze.

“Yes, I was the elder of that pack.”

“So, what really happened to her? You have to know. The fucking elder in our pack knows everything going on here.” I snapped the book shut and rounded my desk to stand in front of the man that I had ran with for six years.

“That’s all I know. The Alpha and Luna didn’t tell me what happened to her. But apparently they gave her to the Shonkinite pack. For what reasons I have no idea. We would have to interrogate the alpha to find out.” Olli never flinched as I continued to stand in front of him. No wonder he never had any issues with dealing with us.

“Alpha Roy is an idiot. He wouldn’t know anything about this. His dad might, but I don’t know if he is still alive. Because I don’t think he would let his son act the way he has been.” I told him as I sat back on the desk. Placing the book down beside me I crossed my arms over my chest.

Damn I couldn’t believe that my mate was a alpha born female and that two had been born so close together. I did read the book how Selene the Moon Goddess created us and that the first alphas were born alphas but as our lines crossed fewer and fewer alpha born females were birthed.

“Obsidian was a very small pack as you know. I did know that the Shonkinite pack had come to make an alliance but we didn’t have anything to offer them.” Olli bowed his head as he sat back down in the chair.

“It doesn’t matter now. All that matters is that we protect Nikita more than ever. If Alpha Roy finds out she is an alpha born female then we will for certain have a war.” I glanced between the two men in the room with me.

You know Nikita hates when you try to protect her. Maybe you should tell her about her past? I mean she thinks that she is a warrior. She has been putting her life on the line for that dipshit as long as she has been with that pack.Aloysius commented in my mind.

He was right so I was going to have to do this so that she wouldn’t know and when the time is right I would let her know about her pack. I had claimed the territory after I had gone to see it. From what Olli was saying, Nikita had never known what her pack had looked like before she was taken. Because she was said to have been dead at birth.

You don’t need to wait till the time is right for you. She is going to need to know soon and you know this. You always hated when your mom and dad kept things from you. Are you going to make your Luna resent you?

Goddess damn wolf always having to be right. But how do I tell her about a pack I know nothing about and I’m sure she will have questions on how she came to be in the Shonkinite pack. Olli could tell her about the pack, but we would still need to find out about what had happened all those years ago.

“Well Olli, would you mind helping me to tell Nikita about her birth pack? I’m sure you could tell her about her parents.”

“I can do that. But I think it would be wise to let her come to me. I’ll be here for a few months and let her get used to me. I can tell that she is curious about me.” Olli chuckled. It would be nice to have him here with me.

“I’ll have an omega get you a room ready and you can stay in the packhouse.” Harlen stood and walked out with Olli on his heels.

It was something to learn that my mate was from the same pack as my chosen. Fuck I should have asked Olli about Roy being related to Kalila! I slammed my hand down on the desk and went to the door to my office. I needed to get to Nikita and make sure that she was okay.

She had been silent since I had been in this meeting with Olli and Harlen. It was nice getting to see him again but the information that he told me. Still blew my mind. I headed up the stairs following Nikita’s scent to our floor. Opening the door I spotted my shirt that Bella had given to Nikita on the arm of the couch.

I could feel the grin on my face widening as I pushed open the bedroom door and smelled the bath salts. She was relaxing in the bath. I did have her running hard. But now that I knew that she was an alpha. I’d be pushing her harder than ever. She wants to protect herself well. She was going to go through Alpha training just like I had when I was younger.

The training that she had as a pup was nothing compared to what an alpha would have and I doubt that Alpha Christian would train her as such. Which was the reason Alpha Roy wouldn’t make her delta. They had to keep her under their thumb as long as they could and why would he promote her? It would be better to let her stay a grunt than become a delta.

I entered the bathroom and spotted her in the clawfoot tube. She had it sweltering in here like a sauna. Padding to her I knelt and took hold of her hair, pulling her head back and kissed her. Her hands wrapped around the back of my head.
