“How about you go pee, and I’ll order room service.”

“We can’t just stay cooped up in this room all day.” I laughed, though looking at his toned naked body in bed, I wouldn’t mind if we did.

“Want to bet? I have plenty of ways to keep us entertained.”

“Do they all involve your cock?” I stood at the door to the bathroom and looked at him over my shoulder.

“No.”

I frowned before I could stop myself.

“Some include my fingers and mouth.”

The look he pinned me with had my insides flipping as heat jolted through my body.

AFTER BREAKFAST, WE had sex, followed by more sex and a shower. My body was sore, and even though I hadn’t had my fill of Jones yet, I had to give it a break. We sat in bed watching movies while I checked my emails on my phone.

Even though I was supposed to be off this week, it was just habit for me to check them every Sunday so I knew what was happening that week. There was a congratulatory email from Burt with a picture he had taken of the front page of the Beaumont Creek Gazette.

I smiled as I replied, assuring him that I would get the marriage certificate filed tomorrow. At least that would be off my plate and one less thing to worry about.

I was about to close my email when a new one popped up in my inbox. I didn’t recognize the sender, but clicked it open after reading the subject line.

You shouldn’t have done that. You really shouldn’t have done that.

I swallowed hard, trying to push the discomfort aside as a chill ran through me.

“What’s wrong?” Jones asked, immediately picking up on it.

I turned my phone to show him the email, watching as his eyes narrowed and his brow furrowed.

“Who sent that to you?”

“I don’t know.” My eyes widened as I shook my head. “I’ve never gotten an email like that before.”

“Maybe it’s a spam email?” he offered, though we both knew it wasn’t.

“But there wasn’t a link to click or anything like that. It feels personal.”

A few seconds later, my phone dinged, alerting me to a new email. We both looked down and my body stiffened when I noticed it was from the same email address.

Did your husband know you weren’t a virgin before he married you? Or did you lie to him like you do everyone else? Sooner or later, your lies will catch up to you, and everyone will know you didn’t deserve to wear white at your wedding. Everyone will know the truth.
