“Just give me your phone number, Zoey.”
“Fine.” I rattled off my number.
A few seconds later, my phone pinged. Pulling it from my purse, I had a text from an unfamiliar number.
“I’m guessing this is you?” I held up my phone.
“Yep. Now, send me a text with your address.”
“I will.” I smiled.
“Now,” he said.
“You’re very bossy.” My brows furrowed as I typed in my address and sent it to him.
“In more ways than one.” He winked. “I’ll pick you up at six-thirty.” He climbed out of the Jeep.
A soft smile crossed my lips as I watched him walk away.
CHAPTER 10
Carter
“Uncle Carter?” I heard Riley shout from downstairs.
“Up here,” I shouted.
She walked into the bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed while I put on my watch.
“Hot date tonight?”
“Yes.” I smiled.
“With that woman who’s opening a bakery?”
“Yes. Her name is Zoey.”
“I like that name.” She smiled.
I smiled back at her while I grabbed my shoes and sat on the edge of the bed.
“Don’t forget the condoms,” Riley spoke.
I looked at her and furrowed my brows.
“What? Just in case things get hot and heavy. You don’t want any surprises, do you?” She cocked her head.
“No, I don’t.”
“Exactly.” She stood up and pointed at me. “Have fun tonight, Uncle Carter.” She kissed my cheek and left the bedroom.
I shook my head and chuckled. Grabbing my keys, I climbed into my car, punched her address into my GPS, and headed to her apartment. When I knocked on her apartment door and she opened it, I gasped as I stared and noted how sexy she looked.
“Hi. Come on in.”
“Hi.” I smiled. “I see Shaun’s guys got everything set up.” I walked over to the table where a large computer and other equipment sat.
“Yeah. They were waiting for me when I got home from the dealership. Just let me grab my purse, and we can leave.”
