“All done,” she announced maddeningly.

“What is all done?” I snapped.

“The data you gave me to enter into your database. It’s done.”

Impossible. I frowned darkly at her. “All of it?”

The deliberately blank smile widened slightly. I recognized it. She was feeling victorious.

“Yes, all of it. I found a way to do it in batch form.”

I had to see that for myself. I clicked on the mouse until it took me to the custom-made program which enabled me to see all the numbers at a glance. She wasn’t lying. Shehaddone it.

A new respect for her came over me.

Maybe she wasn’t as pathetic as the rest of them. This new development made my earlier decision to hasten her departure irrational, but she was too distracting to keep. I looked up, nodded curtly, and dismissed her with a wave of my hand. Dismissing her from my mind was a bit harder as I continued trying to read a report by one of my managers. She had to go. Definitely.

I came out of my office at half past five and Lillian was still at her desk.

“Good night, Sir.”

“I need you to accompany me to dinner,” I said brusquely.

“Sorry?”

“You didn’t think this was a nine-to-five job, did you?”

“No, Sir,” she said serenely. “What file do I need to take with me?”

“The White Water one.”

She could keep my mother company while I worked on that file.

Chapter 4

Lillian

As I looked for the file he’d asked for, my mind was abuzz.

Gosh, he had come so close my skin tingled.

I know Maggie had warned me he was sex on a stick, but freaking hell! She had not prepared me for the gale force ten sexual magnetism that blasted out of that icy man. I mean, he really lived up to his name. Frost. Even his eyes were so light they shone like dangerous shards of gray ice in his tanned face.

Even though he was undeniably and devilishly attractive and at least six-four inches tall, (tall men, I had a thing for), he was a hard pass for me. Nothing could make up for his lack of manners. Rude didn't even begin to describe his character. The insolence was simply out of this world. The man was downright awful; it was almost as if he got a special thrill from making his PAs feel like crap.

Never in my life had I ever come across such a grumpy, disagreeable ogre. He never smiled, not even when his clients were around. I noticed he wasn’t horrible to them though.

Just me.

As I sifted through the files, I tried to regain my composure. I don’t think I’d ever had a boss ask me to go out for dinnerwith him, even if it was meeting clients. From behind me, I could actually feel him brimming with impatience. To my great relief, I found the file in the next few seconds and pulled it out.

Grabbing my handbag, I followed him to the door.

As I hurried behind him, my eyes took in his physique from the back. Wide strong shoulders, slim waist, and narrow hips. I found my gaze drifting downwards towards his ass. It was covered by the jacket of his suit, of course, but I was willing to bet it was tight and firm. For some reason I couldn’t fathom, I found myself wondering what it would feel like to cup his ass and yank him to me so I could feel his hard, hot erection.

Shocked by my insane train of thoughts, I shifted my gaze away from him and stared at the elevator doors as we waited for them to open.

I didn't understand myself.
