Alex smirked. “Eat, enjoy.”
It was a little unnerving, if she were honest, at just how much she thought she could get used to this lifestyle. Perusing the offerings, she watched in amusement and horror as two women arrived, each one entering a bedroom.
“Uh, who are they? And why is she in my room?”
Francine rolled her eyes. “They’re packing. We need to vacate and be on the move.”
“But I can do that.”
“Yes, you can, but I don’t have time to wait for you to do that. So, you can enjoy breakfast and then get showered, dressed, and go without worrying about it.”
Swigging down her juice and pulling the corner from her toast, Morgan stood up and went to her bedroom. Her case was already laid out and opened, her evening shoes already packed.
“Hi, it’s okay, I can do that,” Morgan said, smiling at the woman who, until now, hadn’t acknowledged her. She didn’t care what Francine wanted. There was no way she was allowing someone to pack for her.
The woman turned to her and all but saluted. “It’s alright, there isn’t much, I can do this while you—” The woman’s smile was warm, and she edged closer. “You’re not used to people running around after you, are you?”
Chuckling, Morgan said, “Is it that obvious?”
“How about you pick out the clothes you want to wear today, and I finish off while you relax and enjoy the experience. If it helps, I’m being paid twice what I’d usually earn, and I’m good with that.”
For a moment, Morgan considered arguing, but in all honesty, it made sense, even if she did feel guilty about enjoying someone else doing all of her mundane chores for a while.
She supposed though that like a holiday, after a while you missed the normality of the life you lived, but for today, why not?
“Okay, thank you.” Morgan shrugged graciously. She pulled a pair of jeans and a teal-coloured turtleneck thin jumper out and laid them on the bed, tossing underwear to join them. “I’ll wear those,” she said, pointing to the trainers the womanwas about to pack. The woman smiled as she handed them over. “Do you do this for everyone that uses these suites?”
“Only those we like.” She winked. “Go on, enjoy that breakfast before it all gets cold.”
“Thank you,” Morgan repeated before backing out of the room and into the lounge area. She picked up a plate and casually moved around the table, picking out a croissant and a slice of sourdough toast. She smiled when Alex passed her a glass of orange juice.
Obliviously interrupting the moment, Francine said, “Happy now?” When Morgan nodded, she continued, “So, we’ll be leaving here in the next hour. Once everything is packed, Mike’s ready to go. The drive shouldn’t take more than an hour.”
“I’ve never been to Chester,” Morgan said, looking around the room. “What about the flowers?” There hadn’t been this many at the other venues. She hadn’t thought about it then, but it seemed an awful waste.
“We leave the flowers for the staff here at the hotel to enjoy,” Alex answered.
Morgan shrugged. It didn’t matter to her. What mattered right now was the aching limbs and the need for a short nap. Being Alex Montgomery’s lover was far more exhausting than being her doctor could ever be.
Not that she was complaining.
She grinned to herself, recalling the night before.
When she glanced up, she found Alex staring at her across the table, that knowing look and the smirk aimed in her direction as she mouthed a silent, “Stop it.”
Chomping down the last mouthful of toast, Morgan stood up, her robe falling open and revealing long legs and a barely there t-shirt. “I’m going to grab a shower.” She continued to grin at the way Alex appraised her subtly.
“Great, one hour, remember!” Francine chipped in.
“I’ll try not to be too long in the shower.” Her line of sight flicked back to Alex to witness the narrowing eyes that knew exactly how she would be spending that time in the shower.
“Nobody is keeping watch on the time, Morgan,” Alex said, still smirking at her. She stood up and moved gracefully around the table, and as she passed Morgan, she whispered, “Enjoy your shower.”
Morgan remained still, the implication that Alex liked what she planned to do in the shower hitting her arousal like a rocket, again. Francine’s dulcet tones brought her back to the room.
“I am.” Francine tapped her watch. “Move it. I wanna be there before lunch. You’ve got a lot to do, and I do not want any more swanning off on shopping trips. It’s a tight ship, this one.”
Alex sat back in her seat, relaxed and at ease, just watching as Morgan turned and quietly shimmied off towards her bedroom, stopping at the doorway to turn and glance just once over her shoulder before she was gone from sight.
