I’ve been watching him. I saw him leaving a property a few weeks ago—the house of some mere human. A human, ha! He must be as dumb as his father thinking with his heart, not his head. He didn't see me when he left her place, but he sure smelled me. His eyes darkened, and I watched as he looked at the house he’d just left, debating to go back inside.
He didn’t.
I was tempted to knock on the door to see who he had spent the night with. I didn’t. I’ll put another wolf on her pretty little tail later. I want to know all there is to know about this woman.
The door to my private dungeon bursts open, and my Beta comes inside, dragging a wolf with him.
“Tell her what you told me.”
“Sorry, Mistress. We didn’t obtain anything. The tiger fucking attacked us,” the other wolf says. I muse this over for a moment. My potion isn’t strong enough yet. It needs to be.
“You let a tiger scare you?”
“It wasn’t just the tiger, Mistress. His bear was out too. He senses something is wrong and knows that we are watching him.”
Declan’s smarter than he looks. I wave my hand at my Beta. “Get him out of my sight.”
The other wolf begins to shake. “Mistress, I have an idea. One that might help.”
I doubt it.“No, you had your chance. I need to pick other stronger wolves.”
My Beta drags the disappointment of a wolf away, and I turn back to my potion to find it’s turned pink and smells like roses.Excellent, it’s ready! This time, it’s more potent, and I hope it’ll help me gain the final ingredient I need to make Declan’s potion. I’ll destroy Declan Stone, his little human, and his clan, all without shedding any blood.
I will have my revenge for the death of my father. I will have what should’ve been mine.

WINTER
I’m waiting for Liliana to pick me up. I’ve been looking forward to today since she suggested it. My front door opens, and Liliana walks in. “Put the book down. Let’s go.”
“But I’m at a really good bit,” I pretend to complain. It’s not.
“I have to tell you something. Declan is driving us today. Something happened at the vineyard last night, and he doesn’t want us out alone.” We get out to the car, and he is leaning against the hood. He gets off and walks over to me, wrapping his arm around my waist.
“Good morning, beautiful. Ready for a fun-filled day?” He presses his lips to mine in a kiss that is so natural it feels like we are a couple even though we haven’t put a label on what we are.
I pull back. “Last time I checked, this was a girls trip. I don’t see a handbag, high heels or a skirt on you.”
“I can rock a skirt where I need to. I’m sure there’s some Scottish in me somewhere,” he says.
I pull out of his arms and make my way towards the backseat, smirking. He could probably rock a kilt.
“Not going to sit with me?” he asks.
“Nope, you are the chauffeur for today. Try not to listen to our conversation.”
“It’ll be about me and how magnificent I am in bed, right?”
“Not likely.” I climb into the car beside Liliana. She looks a little sad. “What’s wrong?”
She looks at me. “I’m happy for you, I truly am, but I’m sad too because I found Christian sleeping with someone else. I will be okay, and I know things between us have been rocky for a while. I just never thought he’d cheat.”
“Oh, sweetie, I’m sorry to hear that. I am. Remember, Declan and I are new. We aren’t even officially dating.”
“Not yet, but you said yes to a date last night, so I guess technically we are,” he chimes in.
“Shush you! I am here for you, Lily, no matter what. Your Prince Charming is out there, I promise you. He’s just riding a turtle.”
