“Thanks.”
“Yeah. She’s going to be a great part of the clan,” he remarks.
“Have you got a crush?” I ask, nudging him.
He grins as I swear a soft blush crosses his cheeks. “I think she’s my mate.”
“Did you sleep together yet?” I ask.
“Can’t nail her down long enough to get her into bed and find out. We’re either working simultaneously or on patrol of your land together. Like tonight, but I think she feels it too.”
I smile. “I’m happy for you, man. I am.”It seems everyone is finding their mates around here.I’ll need to be sensitive around Liliana for a while. She’ll think all this sucks, and I don’t want to lose a vital member of my clan.
“I’ll log this into our system, and if you do happen to find anything missing, let me know,” Graham says, standing up.
I walk him out of my house, closing and locking my door behind me. I’m not ready to go to sleep. I’m still too wound up to get any proper rest. I check every window and door in my home, making sure they’re locked, then head to my gym to de-stress. It’s too late to go back to Winter’s place now and use her body to cool off. She won’t thank me if she’s sleeping.
Heading into my pool, I slip beneath the cool water and swim.
There was a wolf on my property—specifically looking for me in my home. In my bedroom.
What do they want with me?
I can’t seem to wrap my head around why, but I’m going to try and figure this all out. If I’m in danger, so is my entire clan, and by default, without her knowing so, so is Winter. I can’t be the one who has them all injured or, worse, killed.
When I’m done here, I’m ringing Liliana and demanding that I tag along with her and Winter tomorrow. I can guarantee they won’t like it, but no one is safe until the threat has been explained or eliminated.
If this wolf wants a fight, they’re going to damn well get one.

This isn’t going to plan. Nothing is.
I need to make the potion stronger, more concentrated.
It needs to work perfectly on Declan. So far, it’s not working correctly on anyone, and they’re failing at their tasks. They need to retrieve something personal of Declan’s to make this potion powerful enough that he will believe he is in love with me. Sure, he’s handsome enough, but it’s not him I want. It’s his clan.
But I don’t desire to be Luna of a clan. No, I want to lead it. Rule it.
My father was the rival pack’s Alpha. He wanted Declan’s father’s clan and believed he was owed it. He was an Omega in Declan’s father’s clan. He desired more. Wanted a higher rank. Declan’s father never gave in to his demands. He also wanted Laura, Declan’s mother, to be his mate.
In the shadows, my father plotted and waited. Then one night, he attacked. Declan’s father didn’t know what had hit them under cover of darkness. What my idiot father didn’t see coming was Declan’s ability to shift that night.
Weren’t it for that significant oversight, my father would be the Alpha of that clan. Instead, he’s in a box in the ground, and my entire family was banished from the clan forever.
Since then, I’ve lived with my aunt and uncle on our own, within human society. We even formed our own pack, which my uncle became the Alpha of.
My cousin is currently the Alpha, and I am a mere she-wolf destined for nothing more than breeding. But not for long. I will exact my revenge, and it will be sweet.
I stir the contents of the cauldron before me. It’s almost ready, but not quite. My aunt learned of my magic not long after my fifth birthday and helped me control it. Hone it.
Except, the older I got, the more determined I became to fight for what was mine.
Declan’s time will come.
Declan Stone has no idea what is coming for him. And coming for him, I am.
