My eyes widen. “The security room. I didn’t think about the cameras! They’re going to know I left with you.”

I glance over my shoulder, expecting to see someone coming after us.

He laughs. “Relax, babe. I took care of everything.”

“Do I even want to know?”

“Probably not. Now, where do we want to go?”

“This is going to sound strange, but can we get my cousin? You’ll like her, I swear.” My eyes water. “I miss her so much.”

“Of course we can. Will she be hard to break out, too?”

Digging my phone from my pocket, I shoot her a text.

Freja

It’s Anna. I’m on a burner phone.

I just broke out of the prison. Are you free tonight?

Girl, we must be thinking the same thing because I just left.

Stay where you are. We’re coming for you.

We?!?

I ignore her, turning to Flynn. “She just left the penthouse. If we hurry, we’ll run right into her.”

“Lead the way, my lady.”

Two minutes later, Freja rushes toward me, throwing her arms around my neck.

“Look at you, being a little rebel.” She turns her attention to Flynn. “Let me guess, you broke her out hoping to get some from my cousin?”

“Freja!”

But Flynn isn’t bothered.

“Nah, I just like hanging out with Anna.” He holds out his hand. “I’m Flynn.”

“Freja. Nice to meet you.” She gives him a cheeky smile. “You don’t know me, but I’m the black sheep of my family and I love shocking people.”

“It takes a lot to shock me. Now, where would you ladies like to go?”

Freja sighs. “I’d kill for a joint.”

Flynn looks at me and I nod. “Sure.”

I’m just glad to be out of Odin’s house.

“Right this way, ladies.”

He flags a cab while Freja looks at me, mouthing,oh my god. I grin and shrug. One shows up like he summoned it. I think back to what Odin said the last time I snuck out. Does this driver work for him, too?

Flynn says, “You coming?”

Nodding, I slide in next to him as he rattles off an address to the driver. Twenty minutes later, we’re at a building that looks like it’s been abandoned for a long time. The windows are boarded and there’s graffiti on the red brick with words that would make a sailor blush.
