I swat the side of her bottom, making her laugh.

“Don’t think I won’t bend you over my knee right now, baby girl.”

“Promises, promises.” She stands, leaning down to kiss me. “I’m going to hold you to that later.”

I stop her, putting my hand on her stomach. “Be good for Momma, lille venn.”

Little darling.

Anna’s eyes are bright when I look up.

“I love when you talk to her.”

“So you think it’s a girl, too.”

She grins. “Guess we’ll find out for sure at the end of the week unless we decide to do a gender reveal party.”

“I want whatever you want.”

“I’ll let you know.”

She turns to leave, but I stop her.

“I think you’re forgetting something,skatten min.”

“I love you, Odin.”

“I love you, too, Anna.”

***One month later***

Heimdall grimaces as he adjusts his party hat. “You better be glad I care for you, brother.”

I snort. “It’s not that bad.”

“You’re only saying that because you’re in love.”

My gaze goes to Anna, who’s next to Freja and Ellie. Her hand is on her stomach where her baby bump is starting to show. Fuck. How did I get so lucky?

“Jesus. You’ve got it bad,” he says, but he’s smiling.

I say, “I do, and I wouldn’t change a damn thing.”

“Still going to do the thing?”

I look around, making sure no one overheard him.

“Yes.”

“Good.”

He slaps my back as he walks away, and I make my way to Anna. She’s wearing a light-yellow dress with a pin over her left breast that says,What Will Our Baby Bee?Yeah. The gender reveal party is bee themed. I couldn’t care less what the theme was, but Anna said she’d always loved bees, so I made it happen. I even outsourced local honey for the party bags for our guests.

Anna smiles as I wrap my arm around her.

“Ready?”
