“I’ll hop out so you can shower.”

“I expect to find you waiting in my bed when I get back, baby girl. In fact, move your shit up here because this is where you’ll be. Understand?”

I nod, smiling as I step out of the shower. In the bedroom, I dress in my clothes from last night and slip from his room down the secret staircase. In my room, I pack my clothes and toiletries. I don’t bring my pills. Oddly enough, I haven’t had the need for them lately. I also leave my burner phone hidden in the closet. Peeking outside to the hallway, I make sure the coast is clear before going back toward Odin’s room.

He's not back, and I try not to think about the reason too much. Instead, I unpack my clothes, hanging them in the closet next to his. In the bathroom, I put my items on the vanity, smiling. There. It looks like I belong here. He walks into the bathroom, wrapping his arms around me.

“I like the way that looks.”

I spin, facing him. “Do you, now?”

“I do.” He puts his hands on my hips, pulling me close. “So, what shall we do today?”

“You mean you don’t plan on keeping me in bed all day?” I tease.

“Now there’s an idea.”

I grin and ask, “What would you like to do?”

“We could go out for lunch and then take a ride around Central Park.”

“I’d much rather take a ride somewhere else.”

He laughs. “I’m trying to take you on a date, baby girl.”

My eyes widen. “A date? Really?”

“Why is that so hard to believe?”

“I don’t know.” My cheeks are warm. “I’ve never been on a date.”

Flynn crosses my mind, but I shove the thought away. That doesn’t count.

“So, where would you like to go?”

“Anywhere?”

“Anywhere.”

“Could we take a helicopter ride and see the city at night?”

“We can. Anything else?”

“A Broadway show?”

He grins. “Baby girl, you don’t have to ask. Your wish is my command.” He pulls out his phone, handing it to me. “Find a show that sounds interesting. I need to pop into my office and send a few emails.”

“Okay.”

He kisses me on the forehead before leaving. Opening the internet, I search the list of shows playing today. We can make a matinee, which will finish just in time for dinner. After we eat, we can take the helicopter ride. I can’t stop smiling. I’m going on a date. A real freaking date.

I’ve just found a show I want to see when Odin gets a text from Heimdall.

Heimdall

You fucking owe me. Hans is an annoying prick.

You’ll live.
