He snorts. “There’s always a room on hold for me and Van der Zee. A perk of being on top.”
Leaning up, I kiss his neck. “On top, eh? I like the sound of that.”
“You’ll get your chance, baby girl.”
By the time we arrive at the hotel, I’m panting with need.
Sucking on Odin’s bottom lip, I beg, “Please fuck me, Daddy.”
He growls, kissing me back. “I will when we get inside.”
The car comes to a stop and a man in a uniform opens the door for me. I’ve heard a lot about this hotel—one of the most famous hotels in the world—but I’ve never been inside. Odin takes my hand, leading me up the stairs, into the massive lobby. Odin is greeted by name, but he simply lifts his free hand in a wave as he leads me to the elevator. Inside, his mouth covers mine and we kiss until we reach the top floor.
“Penthouse? I should have known.”
“Only the best.”
“Is that why you married my mother? Because she’s the best?”
His gaze narrows as he opens the door, motioning for me to enter.
“What does your mother have to do with anything?”
“I don’t know. I guess I’m wondering why the two of you decided to get married.”
“Your mother is the last person I want to think about when I’m this hard, baby girl.” To prove his point, he grabs my hand, rubbing it over his erection.
I pull my hand back.
“Why can’t you answer the question?”
“Why does it matter, Anna?”
I don’t know why it hurts so much when he uses my name, but it does.
I answer, “Was it a business agreement? I overheard Grandmama on the phone the other day saying that something was going to have to wait since you had returned early.”
His eyebrow lifts. “Any idea who she was talking to?”
“No.”
He’s silent for a moment. Finally, he says, “Yes, the marriage is a business agreement.”
“That involves sex?”
“Jesus, what is going on, Anna?”
That’s the second time he’s used my name. I have to look away from him so I can gather my composure.
I say, “Are you trying to have a child with her?”
“It’s been discussed.”
I turn my back to him this time, but he’s not having it. No, he grabs me, spinning me so I’m facing him.
“Don’t do this.”
“I’m notdoinganything, Odin.”
