Dammit.

I let my eyes trail down to her bare legs and platform loafers… “You forgot your wand,” I add, my heart racing inside of my chest the longer I look at her.

She walks over to me and lifts her skirt slightly, exposing her golden thigh, which has a holster on the outside of her left leg that’s holding a wooden wand.

Kill.

Me.

Now.

She’s literally trying to give me a heart attack.

“Layla is going as a vampire tonight, so I agreed to go as a witch. She doesn’t know that Orion isalsogoing as a vampire,” she adds.

“Are you meddling?” I ask her, smiling.

She shrugs. “I may have given them both a little nudge.”

“Of course you did,” I mumble, thinking that perhaps she’s spent too much time with Miles these last few weeks, considering he’s the biggest meddler of us all.

“What are you looking at?” she asks, pointing to the black box in my hand that I’d nearly forgotten about. I hold it up, and she smiles. “It’s a wearable vibrator,” Zoe answers. “It comes with a remote that someone else controls.”

I peer down at the box again, and my thumb grazes the black and gold remote.

“Where’s the vibrator?” I ask, blood rushing south.

Zoe steps forward and takes the remote. Her eyes bloom with darkness as she holds the remote out to me, and everything clicks.

Fuck—she’s already wearing it, isn’t she?

My mind spins with an explosion of words and phrases. Safe word. Consent. Brat. Punish. But none of it sticks. I’mnotChase or Orion. I’m not about to make her sign a contract before I make her come so many times, she’ll see stars.

But fuck, I want this control.

I don’t say anything as she slips the remote into my jacket pocket, all while giving me a devious, little smirk.

And then she turns and walks away, leaving me with clenched fists and an erection so hard I worry it’ll never go down.

When I hear the front door open, I take a stuttering breath, willing my cock to calm down.

Zoe is going to push me to the breaking point until we both get exactly what we want—which means I’ll have to show her how far I’m willing to go.

Once we cross that line, there’s no going back for me.

THE POSSESSION

Liam

The car ride to Ravage Castle is quiet, so by the time I get onto the main road, I decide to break the tension a bit.

“How are you feeling? About the LSATs,” I clarify.

“Good. Really good. I didn’t realize how stressed the LSATs were making me, and now that I’ve removed law school from the table, it’s a huge relief.”

“And your book?”
