My eyes widen. “The whole third floor?”

He shrugs. “I’ve been trying to tell you this for years. I don’t half-ass anything. I’d have reserved the whole damn castle to play if I’d known you were the one I’d be hunting.”

My body tingles at his words, and I chuck my book onto the side table before standing. My mind runs through his expectations, reeling with the idea of playing with Chase. Of going through a scene together. Finally,my mind sings.

I open my mouth to confirm what we’re about to do when Chase walks to the opposite side of the room, grabbing a crystal tumbler and pouring himself some scotch.

“You remember the safe word, yeah?” he asks, not looking at me.

“Yes, sir.”

His eyes snap up to mine, and they’re… dark. Foreboding. My body shivers as his eyes run over and assess me.

Like a predator.

“Twenty-nine,” he says slowly, taking a sip of his scotch without breaking eye contact. He swallows, and I watch his throat bob as he swallows. “Twenty-eight…”

It takes me another second to realize he’s already counting down.

“Twenty-seven…”

It means I run.

I turn and walk to the door of his living quarters, pulling it open and staring out into the empty hallway. The dark wood. The green wallpaper. My heart is racing, and a small smile breaks out on my lips. I count down in my head so that I know how long I have until he comes to find me.

I continue walking quickly down the hallway, my eyes scanning the other doors. Some of them are open, though most of them are closed.Hmm.Did he premeditate this?

I push one of the doors open randomly, closing it quietly behind me. I still have eighteen seconds left, according to the timer in my head, but I don’t want to risk him hearing anything. As I turn around, I am met with a view of a standard bedroom. It’s nice—but small. I tug on my lower lip and look around as I wipe my palms on my robe. Where the hell am I going to hide?

But more importantly… what the hell is he going to do to me when he finds me?

And you realize that you are stuck with me for the weekend, yeah? You’re mine for three days. This could change everything. I need you to understand that, Parker.

I exit the room as my eyes scan the other rooms. Twelve seconds left. On the other end of the hall, there’s another suite, but that might be too obvious. Instead, I turn to the door next to the elevators, marked ‘Stairwell.’

I remember reading that Ravage Castle was one of the only manors of this size to have been built with an elevator. But of course, there was still a grand staircase at the front, and a small, back staircase for emergencies.

Smirking, I pull the stairwell open and step inside. Technically, he told me I had the whole floor. While it wasn’t a bedroom, I am giddy with the thought of him searching every room before he finds me.

Giddy and… turned on.

I’m not wearing underwear. I focus on the slickness between my thighs, and the rough fabric of the robe grazing my taut nipples. I take a few steadying breaths and close my eyes as I lean against the wall behind the door.

There is no holding back for me once you sign this.

I open my eyes and push all rational thoughts to the back of my mind. Instead, I focus on my breathing—on the noisy inhale and exhale. On the way my heart is pounding so hard, and how my whole body is pulsing. How my clit is already swollen and sensitive. How the adrenaline is coursing through my veins, causing a whooshing sound in my ears.

I’m scared I’ll break you. And I’m scared you’ll hate me for it.

I want him to find me.

I want him to unleash himself.

I want to be caught.
