“Questions?” he asks, setting the pen down.
“No. Yours is pretty straightforward.”
He nods and slides what I assume is my version of the checklist across the table. I pick the pen up—the one he was just chewing on—never breaking eye contact as I pull the papers toward me.
Looking down, I check my answers off. Submissive. Beginner. Straight. Monogamous. Under the ‘prefers to wear’ section, I look up at Chase.
“What do your submissives normally wear?”
Chase leans back. “What do they normally wear? Or what do I prefer you wear?”
“Well, you. Since you’ll be my Dom.”
“I want you to be comfortable. So answer honestly. We can discuss what I expect you to wear, among other things, as we move forward.”
My core swoops low again and I write ‘Anything.’
The list is next, and my cheeks burn as I mark ‘no’ for almost everything. In fact, I only mark ‘yes’ for five things.
“I don’t have a lot of—”
“It’s fine,” Chase interrupts, glancing down. “It doesn’t matter to me, Parker.”
I nod. Then I go down the list, marking off my hard limits first.Definitelyno golden or brown showers. Catheterization. Enemas. Infantilism.
I look up at Chase. “If you don’t share, neither do I,” I tell him, checking it as my last hard limit.
His pupils darken when my eyes find his again. “Fair enough,” he murmurs, rubbing his mouth.
I go down the checklist until I have an answer for most things, saving my questions for him for last. Luckily, my research was extensive, and I know what most of the items are. I’m also self-aware enough to know that while I think I might not think I’ll enjoy certain things on paper, I’m willing to try anything other than my hard limits.
“Cock worship?” I ask, arching a brow.
He smirks. “Exactly what it sounds like. It’s when a sub enthusiastically gives their Dom a blow job.”
I mark ‘maybe.’
“Orgasm denial?” I ask tentatively before clarifying. “I mean, I know what it is.” Clearing my throat, my pen hovers over the ‘Yes’ box. “I want to be sure if I mark this that you won’t deny me an orgasm for too long? Like as a form of torture. Because honestly, that sounds horrible.”
Not like I haven’t been living with that all my life with partners.
He cocks his head. “If you mark yes or maybe, I’ll deny you for as long as I want, Parker.”
I shouldn’t be turned on by his answer, but I am.
I swallow nervously and mark ‘Yes.’
“Last one. What is twenty-four-seven?”
Chase’s eyes twinkle as he gives me a small smile. “A relationship where protocols are in place 24/7.”
I narrow my eyes as I decide. I mean… if it’s Chase… I’d probably let him control me all weekend. As I study his face, it occurs to me that I’m far less nervous than I probably should be. But because it’sChase. He’s Jackson’s best friend and roommate. I’ve known him since I was a child. I’d be experiencing this in a completely different way if it were anyone else.
I mark ‘Maybe.’
Sliding the form back to him, I watch as he inspects my answers.
“I know I briefly mentioned earlier that we could use the traffic light system as a safe word. Red means stop. Yellow is used when you’re nearing a limit or you can’t take any more, but you don’t want the scene to end. An example of this is switching from a paddle because you’re struggling with a whip. It can also be used to signal something needs changing such as a position or restraint. Green means keep going. Because you’re so new, it’s easy to remember red, yellow, and green. However, if you’d like to use another word, please let me know.”
