He places both hands on my thighs. “You’re so beautiful when you fall apart,” he murmurs, running a hand up my thighs. I shiver at his touch.

“You—you’re—”

My words are failing me.

Chase chuckles and stands, pulling me off my leaning position against the table. “Let’s go before I fuck you on the table,” he says, his lips against my ear.

“I fail to see the problem with that…” I trail off, smirking.

His eyes look down at me with a dangerous glint. “Grab your things and let’s go.”

CHAPTERTHIRTY

THE DEVOTION

Chase

After I’ve verified that my apartment is free from my older brother, I’m barely through the threshold of my bedroom when Juliet drops to her knees and pulls me forward by my belt buckle.

I grab her hands and give her a warning glare. “Not yet, love,” I mutter, pulling her up. “But I appreciate the enthusiasm,” I add, placing a kiss on her forehead. “I plan on taking my time with you tonight.”

“Well, it’s a good thing I’m fully caffeinated,” she replies, her light green eyes boring into mine.

“We’re still in the scene, Parker,” I remind her, guiding her to my bed.

“Yes, sir,” she says, her eyes slightly hooded as she sits down on the edge of my freshly made bed.

I growl with satisfaction. She’s such a good girl, already broken in and ready to accept my whims. I’ve never spent more than a day with a submissive before, only getting tastes of other women, so I don’t know if this is normal, or if it’s because she truly wants to submit to me. Something tells me it’s the latter. Tonight, and a few times at the castle, I’d seen the way her expression would go slack the instant I’d roll my sleeves up. She enjoyed fighting back, but times like tonight, when the stakes were higher, I knew she needed me to guide her.Wantedme to guide her.

I drop to my knees before her, and she gives me a questioning smile. Reaching for her foot, I pull her heels off slowly, letting them fall to the floor.

“I always assumed being a submissive meant I’d be worshippingyou,Ravage,” she says softly, using her nickname for me.

“A lot of people think being Dominant and being domineering are the same thing, but they’re not. And I think you’ll find that true Dominants want nothing more than to worship their submissives. After all,” I add, bringing her ankle to my lips and placing a soft kiss on her skin. “I find my pleasure on the other side of yours,” I continue. “There’s a saying in our community: you are never more Dominant than when you are caring for your submissive.”

Her throat bobs when I kiss her other ankle. After, I stand, and I know her big brain is processing all of this. It’s not like Dominants have the best reputation in popular culture, so I’m sure she’s mentally scouring the things she absorbed during her research to verify what I’ve told her.

“Take it off,” I tell her, slipping a finger underneath the strap of her silk dress.

Her eyes bore into mine as she eases the dress off, and it falls to the floor in a silken heap.

Fuck.

I’ll never get over the delirium that takes over whenever Juliet is naked before me.

“Another famous dress?” she asks, arching a brow and looking down at the off-white silk.

“Not famous, but special nonetheless,” I admit, wondering if I should tell her.

Looking at me from under her lashes, she leans back on the bed until she’s lying down, propping herself up on her elbows and crossing her legs at her ankles. My eyes slowly peruse her golden skin, soft yet muscled from running. Curvy, yet lithe. Her breasts are begging for me to touch them, and her cunt is still glistening with her arousal. Ineedto touch her. To feel her. To make up for lost time. And yet, I stay where I am, looking back at her face.

“Tell me,” she says, interrupting my thoughts. “About the dress.”

I suck in a breath, looking away. “I bought it for you.”

She lets out a light, tinkling laugh. “I figured. But what makes it so special?” Her voice is gentle, open, and curious. But I know that once I tell her, she’ll always know.

“I bought it for you for your engagement party to Dylan.”
