I climb into the front seat and lock my doors before starting the car again. Knowing Jackson is long gone, I still check my rearview mirror, a part of me expecting to find him in the backseat, ready to ravish me again. I smile as I begin driving.

Just as I'm reaching the house, my phone rings with a call from Sophie.

"Hey, Soph," I answer.

"Is this one of those nights you're working really late?" she asks.

"I actually just got home. Why?"

"Because I need you to go right back to the hospital. I'm in labor."

"What!? Oh my God. Okay, I'm on my way." I look down at my shirt. "Uh, give me time to change my clothes. I uh, want to get out of these heels."

"Oh no rush. I'm just having a baby. I'm sure he'll wait for you to get there."

"Ten minutes and I'm on my way." I chuckle.

Right after I shower, I put on panties that aren't coated in my and Jackson's cum, along with a shirt that isn't ripped down the middle by hands I already want on me again.

Chapter 8

I rush toward the hospital doors, not even looking over my shoulder as I press the fob to lock my car doors. It's been well over half an hour since Sophie called me and since she didn't respond to my text when I told her I was on my way over, I'm worried as hell that she's farther along in labor than I thought she would be; even if Law did text me back to tell me everything is fine. I need to hear it from Sophie, or better yet, see it for myself.

"Leave something behind?" Jerry asks, looking at me with furrowed brows.

"My sister is in labor."

He shakes his head. "Of course. I just saw her come in with Mr. Kane. Please, tell them they're in my thoughts."

"I will. Thank you."

I pass him to go to the elevator, pushing the button repeatedly, as if that will make it come any faster. My phone taps against my thigh with my nervousness as I watch the floor numbers light up, getting closer to the lobby. But then the doors are opening, and as much as I couldn't wait to get into the elevator just a second ago, now I find I'm unable to take a single step.

“Well, well. What are the odds, Miss Lexington?”

My body flushes with heat at the sound of Jackson's voice, at the sight of him, as if I haven't already had him inside of me tonight, barely an hour ago. But I am realizing more and more that I can't get enough of Jackson. A shuddering breath that I hope Jackson can't hear leaves me at realizing it's not just my body that craves him more and more each day. Then he's stepping out of the elevator, coming closer, and even though his outfit is differentthan what he had on earlier, the scent that let me know it was him in my backseat still clings to his skin. I inhale it, and when I see his smirk, I know he's noticed. I clear my throat, trying, and probably failing, to act like his mere presence isn't making me feel far too many confusing emotions.

"Are you going up?" he asks, hand holding the elevator door to keep it from closing.

"Shouldn't you be going up there too, instead of coming down?"

"Your sister requested, I believe she said, copious amounts of chocolate. So I'm on my way to the gift shop, hoping they're even still open."

"She's okay, though, right?" I inquire.

"Yeah. She's six centimeters, and her and baby are good. Only Law's in the room with her right now. Me, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Lexa were all in the waiting room since we basically got banished because the doctor had finally come to put in Sophie's epidural."

"Oh, so she's about to be one happy camper. But, wait, I thought she couldn't eat while in labor."

He chuckles. "I guess the baby's father owning the hospital comes in handy when you're telling the nurses you will be eating all the food you can get your hands on."

"I can just imagine the hell she's giving those nurses. She is not a good patient at all. Even when we were kids, she had to have been the only kid who didn't want you to take care of her when she was sick."

He makes a face that tells me I'm right. "Let’s just say, she is making her point abundantly clear to them."

I raise my brows. "I see. Well, let me get up there and try to save them."

"Actually, I would love the company to the gift shop, if you want to come with me."
