“And, on that note, we’re going to dance.” Robert shifted forward and placed the empty water bottle on the table.
“Ah hell.” Manic chuckled. All of the club members knew the man wasn’t a fan of dancing. The servers often teased him about it. Manic could move and hold a rhythm better than any other Dom Robert knew, and on more than one occasion, Robert had been privy to Manic’s little sexcapades as well. To each his own though.
“You’re free to join us.” The corner of Robert’s mouth twitched.
Manic snorted. “My big ass doesn’t dance. I was built to fuck, plain and simple.”
Robert chuckled. “At least you’re honest.”
“Damn right I am.” Manic drew Yvonne into his arms. “Might play for a little longer before going upstairs.”
Robert grunted. "Have a good night then." He glanced at Benjamin and Mia, who were quietly snuggled together in the chair. A whisper of longing washed over Robert. He hoped one day, sooner rather than later, it would be him, and Will huddled together. "Mia, as always it's a pleasure seeing you again."
Pink tinged her cheeks. “Same. We’re still on for dinner at the house next week, right?”
He’d almost forgot. “Yes.”
“Plus one?” she hedged.
Robert glanced down at Will. “Yes, of course.”
“Fantastic.” She waved to Will as he stood beside Robert. “Have fun tonight. Don’t let Robert try to intimidate you too much.”
Will snorted. “Oh honey, I’m not worried in the least.”
Mia’s tinkling laughter had Will grinning like a fool. “That’s the spirit. Give the agent hell.”
True to form, Robert wasn't one to follow the masses. He tucked Will into his side as they made their way to the dance floor. Heat seeped into Robert's palm where they touched and the excited anticipation flowing through his veins kept him on a razor's edge. The music pulsed with a sensual beat and those already out there, surrounding Will and Robert, swayed and bounced rubbing against each other. He tugged the assistant curator into his embrace, holding the other man close as they danced.
“Having fun?” With each brush of their hips, he could feel the erection pressing against the front of Will’s jeans, matching Robert’s thick length. Hell, he had been hard since he’d seen Will strut out of the bedroom wearing the outfit he’d picked out for him.
Will nodded. “I like your friends.”
Warmth and acceptance bloomed in Robert’s chest. “Were you okay with the seating arrangements?”
DJ Kat keyed up the next song, mixing it with the faster end beat of the previous song. The new rhythm was slower, meant to tease and titillate the dancers. Robert did exactly that, pulling his dance partner closer with a hand on his lower back. He dipped his fingers under the band of his Will’s jeans, lazily caressing the tender area right above the other man’s ass, teasing the man.
A wide range of emotions flashed through Will’s gaze. Finally, he caught and held Robert’s gaze before admitting, “I found it... Freeing. For the first time in a long time, I was able to relax and not worry or think about anything. I could take everything in around me without having to be on all the time.”
Robert smiled. “Then I did my job.”
After a couple of more songs, Robert led them back over to the area where they’d been seated. Everyone was gone. It didn’t surprise him. Nights like these, members took full advantage of the club and all of the amenities available for them.
“All alone,” Will stated, curling up beside Robert on the floor.
“Not for long, I’m afraid. Someone always find me if I’m in the club.”
Will glanced up at him, curiosity filling his gaze. “Do you ever have downtime? Successful club owner, hardworking FBI Agent, and Dom. What do you do to relax?”
Robert shrugged. “Believe it or not, I don’t consider the club as work. I come here to relax either by doing a scene or just hanging out and having a beer. Plus, it’s why we pay our employees so well. It’s their job to deal with the day to day stressors.”
“And why did you become an FBI Agent?” Will inquired.
Robert smirked. “It’s fun?”
Will rolled his eyes and gave a little shake of his head. “My job is fun. Yours is intense and unpredictable.”
Robert chuckled. “I’ve never told anyone the story of why I became an agent.”
