“To my delight, she had a daughter, and all I had to do was wait.” He let time hang in the air before he finished. “And you came right to me.”
He looked into my eyes as his words sank in. He was watching my reaction, and I could not stop the tear as it ran down my face. He had taken my mother from me. He was the terror that ruined my family. He hurled me aside like unwanted garbage and laughed at the situation. He was toying with me, but there was no way this asshole was going to win.
Rage for my mother filled me, and anger for the way he treated me fueled my strength. He was the monster that had killed my mother and stolen my innocence, but I would be the monster to take his life. I growled as I stood, feeling the power beneath my fur.
I charged him, biting at his midsection. He countered with a fist that spun me around, and I struck the wall, but I’d hit my mark. Blood and flesh hung from my teeth as I snarled. He held his side and took a step back, so I sprang again. I swung and scratchedwhere I could, but he was stronger, and his punches fell like anvils. He threw me again, only this time I shattered the glass window and rolled to the ground outside.
“Are you still alive?” His voice was muffled until in a burst of splintering wood, he emerged from the front door. “You have a lot of fight in you, but it won't be enough.”
I was not going to die like this. I pushed up on all fours, with blood pouring from my mouth. I didn't see the kick coming. I spun up and away with the impact, seeing stars when I landed on the pile of wood.
Find the ax. Kill him,I shouted in my mind, desperate to find the strength to move. But it was not working. The pain overwhelmed me, and I struggled to stay conscious.
“I told you I would have you any way I wanted.” Damien slammed his body onto mine, the pressure crushing the wood against my back.
“No!” an angry growl roared, and I opened my eyes to see Damien turn to find Sebastian taunting him into a fight. He tossed me aside in one swift motion, and I crumpled to the ground.
Chapter sixteen
Sebastian
I easily captured the man running up the stairs with one swipe of my claws. His chest exploded in blood as I effortlessly shredded his weak body. At the bottom of the stairs, I saw the werewolf coming from the side room, but it was too late.
His massive form knocked me to the ground, and I drove my fists into his side. My efforts didn’t displace the wolf atop me, and I growled as I maneuvered beneath him. Out of nowhere, a man crashed into the wolf, tossing him onto the couch to my left. I seized the opportunity to rip out his throat. Blood coated the small couch and I sprung up, ready for a counter.
Carlos made swift work of another. “Go! Find her.” His words were a command and a challenge all in one. I hesitated only a second, but when I watched his opponent crumple under his claws, I ran through the door and disappeared into the woods.
Where was I running?I thought, halting my movement. I pulled on the bond, willing it to clear and for Alexandra to be alive. The bond solidified around me in an electrical field. The energy in the air filled the night like lightning bugs connecting to form a path.
I ran without thinking, my legs not moving fast enough. I was rewarded with her sweet scent, and I steamrolled through the trees until I noticed that her fragrance had someone tracking it. She was being followed. I drove my legs faster.
“Find the ax. Kill him.” I tripped at the sound of her voice in my head and rolled down the hill. I beamed at the sound of her sweet voice in my head, crisp and determined. She was on the bond. I emerged in the clearing, and the sight of Damien on top of Alexandra had me seeing red. I was going to stop him now and forever.
“No!” I roared. Damien turned his hand and connected with Alexandra, tossing her off the woodpile. I had to stop myself from running to her.
My mate.I whimpered a plea to her on the bond.
My mate.I heard in response over our bond and let the relief clear my mind.
I focused my attention on Damien, who was using the pile of wood as a springboard. I burst into action, and we collided in a show of fury and fangs. I connected with his muzzle, driving him toward my knee. But he hit me directly between the eyes, andI staggered back, dazed. He countered with sledgehammers for fists. The only way to stop the attack was to plow through it.
I rushed over him like a linebacker, throwing him to the ground. His claws reached out to dig into my bones, severing muscle as he used the momentum to bring me to the ground with him.
He landed on top of me, and I fought to escape. Punches met claws, and blood pooled beneath me.
Hold still,a sweet voice tickled in my mind. I smiled and waited as Damien’s body went limp atop me. Alexandra had used the ax and attempted to decapitate him, but it had lodged in his neck and stuck in a bone. I grabbed the handle and ripped off his head in one motion.
Alexandra collapsed onto the ground next to me. I gathered her in my arms before fainting from the blood loss.
Her long, red hair hung down her back, blowing in the breeze. The light shining off the water made her glow with radiance. The easy material of her gown danced over her tanned body. I slowly slid behind her, placing my hand on the hem of the dress. My fingers walked up her thigh, taking the dress with them.
“You don’t need this,” I said playfully in her ear from behind.
“No,” she replied, and I slid the silky material above her head as her arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me into her. Herfirm ass encased my growing package, and I groaned into her hair.
I slid my hands down her head, gliding my fingers through her red curls and flipping it over to expose her face and neck. I inhaled her scent as I painted the contours of her face. As I slowly touched the curves of her lips, her tongue reached out to taste the tip of my finger. A shiver ran through my body, and I rose in pleasure behind her.
I continued to trace down the length of her neck, curving over the surface. I watched a bead of sweat run down the delicate skin, and I was ravenous. I pressed my lips to the side of her neck, lapping up every drop. Her hands pulled at the drawstring on the thin barrier that restrained my excited member.
