“I have it bad.”
He cocks an eyebrow. “What?”
“I’ve been fucking someone and now I have feelings, and I think they’re big.”
Dan leans back in his chair. “Oh?”
I pull up a chair across from him and sigh. “And it gets worse.” I swallow hard as Dan observes me, waiting. “He’s my enemy.”
His eyes widen and he sits forward, resting his forearms on his desk. “Ok… I have a few questions.”
“Oh, yeah,” I wave a hand in the air, “I’m bi and I have an enemy.”
He nods. “Ok, questions answered. But, maybe just a couple more. Specifically, about the enemy?”
A forceful sigh escapes me as I slump in my chair. “Ok… I guess he’s not really my enemy anymore. But he used to be. I mean, I think he might still kind of hate me, and in a way I hate him too, but it’s so much more than that and things can evolve…” The look of confusion on his face brings me back to his question. “We fought against each other often, for years, back home. We topped the rankings, always taking number one from each other, and I hated him. And he hated me. Until we both came here to the same gym, and we have to work together, and we also fuck now. But… I started developing some feelings for him pretty early on, and now I know they are really there. Because of the moon and stars.”
He just nods again, slowly. “Hm.”
“I know.” I sigh again. “I don’t know what to do either.”
Dan chuckles. “And do you think he shares these feelings?”
“I think so… he at least hates me less now.”
“Ok.” He chuckles again. “And could you talk to him about this…?”
“We already did.” I point to my face.
His eyes widen. “Uh… ok…”
I nod. “It went really well, actually.”
His face twists in horror as his eyes roam over the cuts and bruises. “Alright. Well… maybe just… trust the process?”
God he’s smart.
“You’re right.” I nod. “So right. That is some solid advice, I’ll do that. Thanks, man.” I hold my fist out for him to bump, which he does with a laugh. “And I’ll bake tonight too, that will help.”
“Glad to hear it,” Dan says, standing from his desk. “Let’s go eat.”
“Let’s.” I stand as well. “So, beers after hockey this week?”
Dan smiles. “Absolutely. Hey, maybe you can bring your man.”
Well… now there’s an interesting idea.
Max looks up as I enter the gym, and I prepare myself for either a talking to or a round of applause after I kissed Ty in front of him this morning. But he just simply nods his greeting as usual and continues his way to his office.
Which leaves me feeling confused. Unless he didn’t see us, but I swear he did.
As I head into the kitchen, my mind wanders to that kiss this morning. Ty was all in, and fuck, that was hot. I wonder if I can get another one out of him today…
“Hey, Luca,” Noah greets me as I enter the kitchen. He’s sitting at the table, drinking a coffee.
“Hey, bud.” I smile, heading for the coffee pot and pouring myself one as well. “You been here long?”
“Nope, just got in about fifteen minutes ago,” he says. “Figured I’d take a little coffee break before getting started.”
