Don’t be scared. There’s nothing to be scared of.
“Pussy, stand down,” another male said.
“No. I’ve been part of this fucking club for over ten fucking years. You’re telling me that my choice of woman isn’t good enough?” Pussy asked, growling out the words.
“Pussy?”
His hands left her shoulders.
“I’ll put my fucking jacket down now and leave this shit behind.”
“You’d turn your back on the club for this woman?” Devil asked.
Was a fight about to break out around her? She didn’t know what to do and stayed sat in her chair. It would be best if she kept to herself.
“Pussy, don’t do this.” The mystery man spoke up again.
“Yes, I’d leave, and I wouldn’t come fucking back. You and Tiny are welcome to the mess you’re getting yourselves into,” Pussy said. “I’ll turn my back and make it with her.”
He’d do that for her, and yet he didn’t love her? It made no sense. No man would turn his back on the world he loved for a woman he didn’t care about.
“I wasn’t always blind,” she said, hoping to avoid conflict. There’s no way she’d come out of this fight unscathed. She couldn’t avoid punches when she didn’t know the way they were coming.
“I know, baby. He knows this.”
“I’m not asking you to leave the club, Pussy,” Devil said.
“Then what the fuck are you asking?” Pussy spat the words out. She winced, thankful his wrath was not directed at her.
“She’s going to need your protection. Think about what you’re doing before you do.”
“I’ve had months to think about that. I’m not making a mistake here, Devil. Arrange the fucking priest. I’m marrying Sasha, and I don’t give a fuck how much I have to protect her.”
Silence met his answer. She jumped as he gripped her elbow.
“Fine, you want to take that challenge, thenwe’ll stick by your side.”
“You don’t have to do this,” she said.
“I’m doing this. We’re going to get married.”
“We’ve got a lot more to discuss, Pussy. Take her to Lex and the women. We’ve got a meeting to get through first.”
She was lifted out of the chair, and they started walking. Pussy wrapped an arm around her waist, leading her away.
“That was tense, and I couldn’t even see him.” She tried to make light of what happened.
“He shouldn’t worry, and neither should you.”
“The man has a point. I’m not exactly a viable partner for you,” she said.
Pussy stopped. His hands cupped her face. “You’re the only one I want. I don’t care what I’ve got to do. I’m going to protect you, Sasha.”
“I’m not Ashley,” she said.
“I know. You’re the woman I want.” He dropped a kiss to her lips. “Come on, I’ll introduce you to the other women. They’re the old ladies, so they’ll treat you with respect.”
He opened doors for her, being patient as she walked through them.
