“You okay?” I ask, scanning her face.

She gives me a lazy smile. “More than okay.”

I kiss her on the lips, slow and steady. When I pull back, she looks at me with a crooked grin.

“Do you think our food has gotten cold?” she says with a giggle.

“Yep.” I pull her close. “Guess we’ll have to think of some other way to satisfy ourselves.”

She laughs, and I grin. I’m not entirely joking, but I think she knows that.

Or at least she will in a few minutes…
