“You’re right,” Benjamin agreed. “We don’t. So let’s take it from the top. I believe the Grand Master started with you,” he said, looking at John.
Kailani said his name, solemnly. “John Wilson.”
He’d bared his soul to them once before and it hadn’t ended well. But unlike all those other people in his past, the ones who’d rejected him, who’d left him behind, Benjamin and Kailani had done something no one else ever had.
They’d come back.
John reached down, shoving his boxers down, a symbolic gesture meant to mimic the shedding of his robe, and his unspoken vow that he was coming to them freely, without reservations, holding back nothing.
He held his breath as they both looked at him, then Kailani said, “Benjamin Dara.”
Benjamin didn’t hesitate for a moment, stripping off his lounge pants, and John drew from the man’s confidence, from his seemingly unshakable belief that this trinity was his for the taking.
John took a moment to admire Benjamin’s body, neither of them winning any battles in self-control, both of them hard, erect.
Benjamin took over the Grand Master’s duties, as he said, “Kailani Iona.”
Kailani gave both of them a smile that was as sweet as it was sexy. Then she drew her shirt over her head and pushed down her thong.
Kailani reached out, holding her hand palm up as she started to recite the last line of the binding ceremony. “A trinity marriage isn’t easy.”
“But if we love and trust one another,” Benjamin added, placing his hand on top of hers.
“We’ll never be alone,” John finished, the power of those words shaking him to the depths of his soul. He reached out and took their hands in his.
John wasn’t sure who moved first or if they all three shifted forward as a unit. Kailani kissed him, but with their vows taken, all traces of hesitance were gone. He pressed his tongue into her mouth and met hers. He felt Benjamin’s breath, hot on his cheek, knew he was waiting his turn, somewhat impatiently.
As his kiss with Kailani ended, Benjamin was there, cupping John’s jaw, his lips taking his with a roughness, a hunger that sparked John’s.
John broke the union, sucking in much-needed air, as Benjamin turned to Kailani, the two of them sealing their own vows with the same aggression and need he’d witnessed from them last night.
Nothing would ever be simple with these two, and they would definitely keep him on his toes, but for some reason, he was looking forward to it. Imagining a fuck-ton of makeup sex in his future.
When it looked as if Benjamin and Kailani planned to return for seconds on the kisses, John stepped away, shaking his head.
Kailani looked concerned, Benjamin determined, when he broke the close circle completely.
“Last one in goes down on the other two,” he said, turning and jumping into the pool, creating a huge splash that drenched his lovers.
He heard Kailani laugh as they both jumped in as well, at the exact same time.
They surfaced and splashed, teasing and playing, until Kailani popped up to sit on the side of the pool. Her expression was serious, and John swam over, grabbing her ankles as he looked up at her. “What’s wrong?”
“I wish…I wish we could stay here for a month. To stay away from everyone and everything and just make sure our trinity is strong.”
“But?” John asked as Benjamin swam up beside them.
“But…I have to go back. Selene gave me five days before I have to be back at the waihona. My brother and her cousin took on my keyholder duties, but it was a temporary reprieve. Leaving time for travel…my time is almost up.” Kailani looked at Benjamin.
“I have a flight arranged for tomorrow,” Benjamin said. “I’d like us all to be on that plane together. LAPD thinks you’re working for Interpol for a few weeks, so you can come with us.”
John looked at Benjamin. “You’re going with her?”
“Yes, I can work from anywhere, so I’m staying with Kailani. To help her, support her.” Benjamin’s hand slid down John’s back, under the water. “As her husband.”
John looked at them, and he looked at her as another thought occurred to him. “You have to stay in Hawaii, don’t you? I mean long-term. Benjamin and I would need to move there.”
Kailani’s expression was pinched with worry as she nodded once.
