“No.” I shook my head instantly, trying to keep my voice serious. “None at all.”
“So it couldn’tpossiblyhave anything to do with the fact I unearthed half my wardrobe and a lamp from beneath my bed yesterday?”
“I… I don’t haveanyidea how that happened.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Come here.”
I was shifting toward him in an instant and he pulled me onto his lap.
“Are you lying to me?” he asked. “Because you know what happens to lying omegas in my pack?”
“I…” My lips parted as he squeezed my butt, dragging me closer. My pulse began racing as I stared into his piercing eyes, body growing hot. “I mean… Imighthave scent marked a few things around the apartment…”
“The cutlery?”
“Some of it.”
Dusk raised an eyebrow. “The… toaster oven?”
“Umbra bought it to make me breakfast.”
And he was getting way better. Yesterday morning he’d roasted tomatoes and had only overcooked the eggs a teensie bit.
“I just thought I should make sure the home was ours. I know you have doubts about… the bond.”
His fingers wove through my hair, dragging my neck back. I froze as I felt him press his teeth to the bond.
“I love you, Shatter,” he breathed. “You belong in this pack. That’s the end of the conversation.”
He drew back, still holding me. I bit my lip, unable to take my gaze from him. He was far too good looking, with his gorgeous deep amber skin and bright yellow eyes.
“But we are not stable alphas. Keep scent marking kitchen appliances and cutlery, and you might drive us all back to insanity.”
“Noted.”
“I’m not saying youshouldn’tdo it. I’m just saying we have to be more careful. If you do feel you need to, you can, but—” His eyes twinkled with mischief as he leaned close, breathing in my ear—“You leave it inmyroom when you’re done.”
The command locked in place through the dark bond, surprising me.
“But the others?—”
“You won’t tell them about this command.”
My lips parted as that locked in, too.“That’s cheating.”
His grin was wicked as he leaned back. “I work smart, not hard, Gem.”

"Tonight is the night," Ransom declared.
Umbra looked determined as he rubbed his hands together, waiting for the popcorn to pop in the microwave. "If we don’t get RedEyedBandit off my scoreboards?—"
"We’ll do it." Ransom was absolutely determined.
It was Thursday evening, and Ransom and Umbra had told me they’d show me how to play the game the two of them had been obsessed with since we’d returned from the cabin.
