“Of course, do as you must to strengthen our pack. Another thing, I expect complete honesty from you, Deacon,” Théoden said and I frowned.
“I’m not one to mince words,” I said as my way of trying to figure out what he was getting at.
“We’ll talk more when I see you tonight. Until then,” Théoden said, then ended the call.
I looked at Elijah. “What the fuck did he even mean by that?”
Eli was biting his bottom lip, but he shrugged. “No telling with his ass. We’ll find out. For fuck’s sake, he said enough.”
I decided to not stress about it. Probably more placating he’d want me to do. Like Eli said, we’d find out how much more of his ass Théoden wanted me to kiss at the funeral. I stepped over to Elijah, grabbed his ass and pulled him closer to me. I kissed him, because that was something I never got tired of doing. “Marry me.”
Elijah’s eye bulged and his mouth dropped open. “Wh-what?”
“I know your wolf hearing is just fine. You heard me.”
“Ha! Yeah, I heard you… I just can’t believe what I heard,” he said, and his smile was beaming. “Are you serious?”
“I never say shit I’m not serious about, pup. You’re mine, might as well put a cock ring on it,” I said.
He burst into laughter then. “You just know how to put the romance in everything.”
I chuckled.
“God, I love your dimples,” Elijah said and he kissed both of them.
I slapped his ass again. “Well? Still waiting on my answer.”
He looked at me and the fates couldn’t have given me a more perfect mate. He nodded. “Yes, Deacon. I’ll marry you.”
“Damn right, you will. I really wouldn’t have taken ‘no’ for an answer,” I said.
“Like I don’t already know that.”
“Let’s get married here and go on our honeymoon to one of these new territories we have access to. I’m going to take full advantage,” I said.
He cocked an eyebrow. “Are you sure you didn’t just propose to me to make up an excuse to travel?” He gave me a cheeky grin and stuck his tongue out.
I leaned forward and pulled his head down to me, sucking his tongue into my mouth for another kiss. “Like I’d need an excuse to milk all of the benefits I can out of those bloodsuckers,” I said once I pulled away.
“I want to go to Hawaii first. Always wanted to,” Elijah said.
“For our honeymoon?” I asked.
He nodded. “Yep.”
I smiled. “Sure, why not?”
“For now, let’s check out these humans, see if they’re werewolf material,” Eli said.
I released his ass and we both went off to take care of our Alpha duties. I may have to give up some of my control, but I decided to look at the bright side and when I did… I still felt like I came out on top.
Chapter twenty-one
Théoden
“Myson, howareyou feeling?” Ara asked me as he sat down in the lounge chair beside mine. He’d been spending most of his time taking morning and afternoon strolls since he’d gained the ability. I’d taken it for granted, because the sun was never denied to me, but I was happy to see him enjoying it so much. He wasn’t the only one, every vampire was taking sunny strolls. It was new and exciting and I didn’t bother to restrain them. We’d have to change how things went now, since vampires could be awake during the day if they wanted. The humans weren’t all that happy about it, but who cared about what they wanted?
I sighed and looked out across my indoor infinity pool. There was a lake behind my mansion, giving the illusion that my pool extended into the lake. It had been a purchase point for me when I'd been searching for homes. The glass windows could retract, allowing the air to flow into my home, turning my indoor pool into an outdoor one with the touch of a button. Pure luxury and I enjoyed the view and fragrance of the water. The pool was saltwater, not as much chlorine, not that it mattered. I just didn’t care all that much for the scent.
