I thought that in time, I wouldn’t be as happy to wake up only to see his face, or that I wouldn’t enjoy sitting in bed and talking for hours until we fell asleep, but that never happened. I’m still living in his presence as if time is sneaking between our fingers and every moment can turn into our last. I savor each second I spend with Kai.

My husband.

Since we found each other, Kai has never stopped surprising me, and I never stop finding new things about him.

Like today, when I step on the stage to announce the models who are about to present my first line of suits and the creative story behind them, I see Kai in the first row holding our three-month-old nephew between his arms.

Until now, he refused to hold little Harry because he’s too fragile and he belongs in his mom’s arms, so I'm surprised to see him kissing his head, a smile directed at me as I say the last words before the models join the stage.

“Ladies and gents, I present you the first line of Raybows Clothing,” I shout and point behind me, where Kiaran opens the first walk before going down the stairs.

When he accepted my project, I was thrilled. Not only because I knew it would help with marketing, but because he’s part of my family, and he’s the best person who could wear the suits that were at first designed for his brother.

As I walk to the first row, investors cheer and clap, making the bob in my throat weigh even more. This is an important day for me—it’s my first time presenting my suits to the world and my first chance to get some really good contracts.

Thanks to the Graves’ boys, I have really good investors here.

I take a deep breath and stop to welcome my large family to the soundproof area. I give Ryker a smile because I know he still doesn’t like to talk to anyone, and I’m surprised to hear him speak.

“Congratulations,” he murmurs, and my head snaps to him, but his attention is back to where Kiaran is strutting on stage.

“We’re proud of you.” Tristan winks from next to him, and a grin stretches on my lips.

My teeth sink into my bottom lip, stopping a smile from spreading as I move on, Lacey hugging me tightly.

“You look amazing,” she tells me, glancing down at my all-black suit—Kai’s touch—but with great cleavage and cut pants.

“You too.” I wink at her and her white suit. Everyone is wearing a suit from the Raybows Clothing line.

I look at my sisters and the two empty seats next to them, clear that Cielle didn’t come. After I got rid of my parents andtheir influence, I tried to contact her through Kiaran, but she’s never wanted to have anything to do with me. Or us.

Maybe it was foolish of me to think she’d accept this invitation.

I plaster the smile back on my face and whisper into my husband’s ear, "I’ll be right back," before stepping to my sisters.

“You guys look amazing.” I fake a gasp, touching my lips with my palm. “Who designed your clothes?”

Naveah laughs, looking down at herself. “She’s not really known, but she’s a great designer.”

I smile, looking at all of them. “No, but you really do look amazing,” I say, my eyes sweeping over Ilory, Raven, Victory, and Taylor.

“We’re so proud of you,” Victory—the always cheesy one—says, taking my palms between hers.

“Thank you,” I tell them after they all nod in unison. “I love you guys.” It’s everything I need to say before they all hug me, making me stumble over my heels.

“Now go back to your husband.” Taylor raises her brows at me, pointing at Kai, who’s sitting on a chair behind me, still with Harry in his arms.

“Yeah, he looks like he would like to kill us,” Ilory adds, a shiver running down her spine as we step away.

I look at my husband, noticing nothing but impatience to see me. “Who? Him?” I ask. “He’s innocent,” I say, and the girls laugh. I can tell it’s fake and they do really consider him dangerous.

Ha.

“Thank you again for coming,” I say before turning around, Raven following me.

“He’s been in the same position since I asked him to hold Harry.” She laughs, looking at my husband.

I push her with my elbow. “How did you convince him to hold Harry?"
