You hit me with a car,

And like a pussy left far.

Tried to buy me with money,

How funny.

How mature,

Letting others endure.

Now bye,

See what your money can buy.

My brothers burstout in loud and uncontrolled laughter, clapping each other on the back, and as soon as the song is over, Kiaran puts two fingers in his mouth and whistles until his spine curls.

Esmeray Hamilton.

The name of the girl I drove to my cousin’s private clinic and provided the best health care in the world to.

“What a show, brother. You really fucked it up.” Tristan turns to me, tears glistening in his eyes.

“What the hell did you do, Kai?” Kiaran asks, his phone clutched in his hands. The fucker recorded all of this. I lower it down with my hand, giving him a look. “What? It’s a core memory.” Kiaran smirks, clearly proud of himself.

The fanfare members quickly leave one by one, and none of them seem to care about the enormous dick behind them. “Aren’t you taking that too?” I shout after them, but they don’t even turn their heads to me. “What the hell am I supposed to do with it?”

“We have to meet her,” Ryker suggests, patting me on my back while I still process what just happened.

What Esmeray Hamilton doesn’t know is that I didn’t plan on hitting her. I was at work when Dad called me and told me that he wasn’t feeling very well, and I wasn’t in the right state of mind when the accident happened. With his health issues, any cold is a threat, and once I got her hospitalized, I brought Dad there too.

Surely, I should’ve been by her side when she woke up, but I spent the whole night surrounded by cops and trying to keep them away from my dad’s sight while I made sure both of them were well taken care of. Because if Dad had seen the cops, the night wouldn’t have ended as well as it did for the both of them.

And then there’s my other problem… In reality, I didn’t have any other choice but to stay away from her. Ihadto keep my distance.

Regarding her demand that I visit her, this week has been full of meetings and contract signings. Today is a day destined for my family only. It’s an excuse as much as it would’ve been impossible to go see her.

I’m surprised this is her way of spending the money I sent her.

“Shut up,” I say and smack Ryker’s head.

“What should we do with this now?” Tristan asks and wipes the tears from under his eyes with his fingers.

“Let’s just hope whoever he pissed off won’t come back and stuff it in his ass.” Kiaran laughs. “This shit has to be at least seven feet.”

All of them laugh as they walk toward the house except me. I can barely make myself follow them, and that’s only because I sure as hell won’t stay another second next tothat. “I don’t think I’m hungry anymore,” I murmur.

“I wouldn’t be either after the meal you had. You’re safe for the next few years, Kai,” Kiaran says, all of them barely keeping it together when we get back to the house, where Dad and Lacey wait for us at the dinner table.

“Also, you ran over her with your car?!” Tristan whispers when we sit down.

I hit him with my leg, signaling him to shut up. The last thing Dad needs to find out is that I hit a girl with my car on her wedding day. In a way, I think I saved her life since she’s still staying in the suite I booked for her after five full days. It’s clear that she didn’t want to be at that wedding. But Dad surely won’t think the same.

When Kendrick called me the day he got her out of the hospital and told me there was something weird going on with the girl, I told him it wasn’t our job to take care of her. It’s safe to say he didn’t like that.

The next thing I knew was that I got her a suite and paid for a week before Kendrick could. He was ready to give up his salary for two months just for her to stay in a safe place, but I couldn’t let him. Kendrick has his own family to take care of.

When I glance at Ryker, who’s lowering onto his chair, his stern and bored mask is back on. That lasted less time than I thought it would.
