?“Thanks, man, keep the change.” I slip the kid a large tip for getting the food here so quickly. I paid online, but I still want to help those that earn tips for a living, like Lizzie did.
?“Thanks, sir,” the boy responds with wide eyes once he realizes how much his tip is. I just smile and take the bags from him.
?I place the bags in the kitchen, and then go to the balcony to turn on the heaters, so we can sit outside but not freeze our asses off. Lizzie loves being outside, and she loves the view from the balcony. Even though there is a little layer of snow, I think it will be romantic to snuggle up and eat out there.
Looking through all the drawers, I try to find a lighter or some matches for the candles, but I can’t find anything. I think back to the last time I even lit anything. I remember that there are some matches in the bathroom I used to light candles for Lizzie during one of her baths this week. I admit, I have gone overboard this week with keeping her in bed and resting. She does not make the best patient. I chuckle, thinking about how she was ready to get out of bed by the second day. I had to threaten to tie her to the bedposts to keep her there. Her eyes blazed fire when I said it, but I don’t think it was all anger, and it’s something I want to explore later. Fuck, that makes my cock twitch in my pants just thinking about it. Calm down, boy. It’s been days of sleeping next to Lizzie but not being able to make love to her. It’s taking a toll on my body as well. My resolve for letting her rest is wearing thin.
?Running up to the bathroom but keeping quiet, I rummage through the drawers until I find the matches. Sprinting back down the stairs, I grab the blankets and candles, then head out to the balcony to set everything up.
?Once I’m pleased with how it turns out, I walk back up to our bedroom to wake Lizzie.
“Wake up, sleepyhead. I ordered dinner,” I whisper in her ear, rubbing her back in circles, trying to wake her up softly. The covers start to rustle, and I see her lustrous brown eyes flutter open. I get a shot to my heart at the sight. I lean down and bring my lips to hers. She arches her lush curves against me; if I don’t pull back soon, we won’t get to the special dinner I planned. With a groan, I kiss her forehead and pull away. “None of that… yet. I have a surprise for you.”
?“What is it?” she queries, sitting up.
“Well, it won’t be a surprise if I tell you, right? Come on, baby. I’m carrying you, so you better keep your eyes closed until I tell you. Got it?” I smirk at her irritated expression.
?“Yes, sir.” I shouldn’t like hearing her say that as much as I do, but damn, does it do something to me. Picking her up with an arm on her back and one under her knees, I cradle her body to mine.
“Good girl. Now close your eyes,” I rasp in her ear, then notice the goosebumps that cover her neck and I’m sure down her arms. I’ve discovered my girl has a praise kink, and I love it. I use it whenever I can, and I see the heat behind her eyes.
?When I open the balcony doors, Lizzie goes rigid in my hold.
“Are you kidding me? It’s freezing outside, Miles,” she squeals and digs her head further into my chest. I walk over to the heated section and set her down on the sectional that’s covered by an overhang to protect it from the elements. The heaters are doing their job, and it’s nice and toasty over here.
?“Keep them closed a second longer, baby.” I pull a blanket over her lap and lean down in front of her.
?“Okay, open,” I softly command.
?Her eyes open the instant the words leave my mouth, and I can’t help but smile. She loves surprises. She looks me in the eyes, and then past me when she notices all the candles around us. She brings her hand up to cover her mouth as a tear slides down her soft cheek.
?“You did all this? For me?” she asks in awe. She’s still looking around, catching sight of the candles with a backdrop of the frozen city below us. I can see the flames dance in her eyes when she looks back at me. I lean up and give her a quick kiss.
?“Of course, this is for you, baby. I wanted to do something to get you up and out of bed, also have a little romantic dinner,” I explain.
?Lizzie jumps off the couch and into my arms in an instant. “I love it so much. Thank you. This is so beautiful.” She sits back down on the sectional, brings her legs up under the blanket and crosses them, placing her hands in her lap. “So, what’s for dinner then? I’m starved!” she exclaims.
?“I got Mexican from that little place over by your apartment. Sarah mentioned it was your favorite.”
?“Yes! It’s so, so good! Thank you, babe!” she gushes. “Just wait until you try it!”
?“All right, well, let me go get it.” I rise to my feet, kiss her forehead—which I know she loves—and I get our dinner. My stomach growls when I smell the food in the kitchen. I guess I didn’t realize how hungry I was either.
?When I get back to Lizzie, I stand there transfixed by the scene before me. It’s the same one I just left, but for some reason, it’s hitting me in a different way from this angle. This is what I want. I want Lizzie here, in this apartment. I want her to live here, so I can surprise her and do these small gestures for her whenever I want to. The thought of her moving in overpowers me, and I know I will be insisting she move in with me by the end of the night. She looks over at me, and my heart skips a beat. The sheer beauty of this woman, inside and out. Lizzie is the epitome of a goddess.
?“Here it is,” I declare, placing the bags down on the table. I take out each dish and arrange them in front of us. I grab two bottles of water and pass one to her, then tell her,” Dig in!”
?“Mmm, this is delicious. I definitely needed this. Do you like it?” she questions.
?“Of course, I like it. It’s food.” I laugh. “But seriously, it’sincredibly good. I’m glad I know about this little place now.”
?Once we get our fill, I lean back and rest my head on the back of the couch, looking up at the sky. It’s a beautiful open sky. Unfortunately, the city lights obstruct the viewing of many stars; however, a few brighter ones can be seen. Lizzie leans back against my chest. The smell of her shampoo never ceases to make me happy. Everything about her makes me happy. She is my forever. I bring my arm down and rest it on her lower back as we sit in silence and look off into the distance.
?“This is nice. Being out here with the snow but staying warm and being able to look at the city. I love it out here.”
?I take this as an opportunity to bring up her moving in with me. With a gentle touch of my hand, I pull Lizzie’s chin up, so our gazes are locked.
?“What if it was your balcony, too?” I ask, heart pounding.
