I laugh. “No, but I want what’s best for everyone.”
“Well, what’s best for me right now is you.”
With lightning speed he scoops me off the ground and I giggle as he starts walking us out of the room.
I drop the stuffed animals I’m holding and we fumble our way to his bedroom.
What follows is probably the most sensual hour of my life.
This time, Reid and I take our time exploring each other.
Usually, when we have sex it’s frantic. I would even describe it as animalistic. Although I love that, this is equally as phenomenal.
We make a meal of the whole act. We take our time undressing each other, exploring each other with our eyes, with our mouths, and with our hands. Every touch is electric, every breath staggered.
I don’t want to call this just sex, because it’s more than that. We make love. That’s the best way to describe it. It is earth shattering, and by the end of it, it’s like I’m a different person.
I thought it couldn’t get any better than what we had, but I was wrong. Knowing that we are capable of this kind of passion makes me feel powerful.
But, however powerful I am, one must come back to earth eventually.
Once we are done, we’ve only been lying in each other’s arms for a couple of minutes before we hear Ethan making noise around the house.
We both jump out of bed and clean up as quickly as we can then head to the little prince of the Manor.
The rest of the day I’m floating on a cloud. Literally nothing can spoil my mood. How lucky am I that this is my life. It really can’t get any better than this, but with Reid, the possibilities are endless.

REID
“What do you want?” I grumble over the phone
“I’m just calling to check up on you,” Clive says.
“Why?”
“Well, you didn’t come in to work today.”
“Yeah, I’m going to be perp-walked out of the company I started in about four days. So I think I’m entitled to a day off.”
“I don’t disagree. It’s just that you’ve made it a point of wanting to be at work. So I was worried you were dead somewhere.”
“Well, as you can tell I am fine. I’m just a little tired today. Naomi is off to see her parents and Ethan is away at day camp. So I thought I would take advantage of the quiet house.”
“Mhmm… Listen, Reid, you and I are very close, but we’ve never been so close as to discuss our personal lives. However, I have to say this. Is it wise to be dating your nanny?”
I roll my eyes. “I’ve had some variation of this conversation with a million other people. I’m not about to have it with you.”
“I’m sure, but I just want to make sure you know what you’re doing.”
I sigh. “Look, Naomi is one of the few things in my life that is actually working right now. She’s probably the reason why I haven’t lost my mind with everything going on at the company. So yes, I know what I’m doing, and that’s all I am going to say on the topic.”
“Fair enough…”
“So can we end this conversation now?”
“Sure, but I have one more question to ask you.”
