He was also finally able to see the full beauty of her body. He’d imagined it plenty, but to see the real thing was much better. Her skin was glowing and her breasts peaked out just above her bikini top. Her tiny waist meshed into her voluptuous hips and perfectly rounded ass. She wore her hair in two French braids. If he were a teenage boy, he’d be hard just looking at her. How would it feel to caress her little untouched body?I shouldn’t think about her that way. But…Against his better judgement, he decided to go talk to her. What the hell. We are in public. No harm will be done. We’ll just talk. I can check in and make sure Giannis has left her alone.

Demetri sat up from his lounge chair and tilted his head towards Noelle. “I’m going for a walk.”

“If Athena were here, she would be very jealous.” Yannis smirked at Demetri.

“Who gives a shit what she thinks? We are not together,” Demetri said as he stood up.

“I know you two are nothing. But I believe she thinks she has a claim on you. She always comes looking for you at the club.” Yannis took a drink of his water and smiled up at Demetri.

“We haven’t been together in months. She knows we were never serious. It was just physical, and that has been over for a while. If she thinks otherwise, that is her problem. We both agreed. We were just having fun while it lasted.”

“I never liked the woman. She might have been a good time for you, but she is controlling and territorial. Every other man she has been with she tricked into marriage or a long relationship. I know you are a force. But how did you avoid her capture?”

“We had an understanding from the beginning. It was simple. Nothing to tell.” Demetri walked away.

“You must share your secrets, my friend!” Yannis shouted as he tossed some sand in Demetri’s direction. Demetri laughed as he made his way towards Noelle.

Noelle was crouching down, grasping something in her hand just as a wave flowed on to the shore. The wave caught her off balance. She lost her footing and began to fall backwards. “Son of a biscuit!”

Demetri lunged forward and caught her. Noelle looked up into his eyes and shivered. With a smile, he pulled her up to a standing position and stared at her pink lips before he spoke. “Did you find what you were looking for?” He raked his hand through his hair.

“What?” she asked.

“Whatever you were searching for in the sand, did you get it?”

“Oh...no. It was just within my reach, but the waves were too fast, and they carried it away before I could get a firm grasp on it. I thought it might have been a small sand dollar, but I didn’t get a good look.” She pouted her lips in disappointment.

He wanted to suck on those lips. Demetri knew how she felt.Noelle is just in my reach, and I can’t hold on to her either.

“So, has Giannis bothered you anymore?” Demetri asked.

“No, I haven’t seen him at all. And, um, thank you for saving me... again,” Noelle said softly.

“I wouldn’t call this one a save, little lamb. You would have only fallen on that beautiful round ass of yours.”Demetri prided himself on being calm and in control around beautiful women. Normally, that was the case, but he didn’t seem to have the same abilities with this girl.

She turned away for a second, only to turn right back around. With her hand on her hip and a questioning look in her eyes, she asked, “Wait, what did you… did you call me little lamb?”

Oh shit.Demetri had been with plenty of beautiful women, but he had little control around Noelle. “Yes. It is just an observation, as you say. There is something about you. I don’t know. You seem innocent. Naïve, like a little lamb. When I saw you out with Giannis, I could see you were not prepared. Therefore,I called you little lamb. Am I wrong to assume you are these things?” He let out a long breath and waited for her response. Will she be angry? It doesn’t matter. I will never see her again and it wouldn’t hurt her to know she needs to be more cautious. He wouldn’t always be there to save her.

She said nothing for what seemed like forever. The look of shock on her face was unnerving. “Noelle, I am sorry if I offended you. Please accept my apology.” He didn’t want to hurt her feelings.

“It’s okay. I am fine. You don’t have to apologize. It was just, I don’t know. Weird? I mean, you barely know me. I didn’t realize you could make such an informed decision about my personality with the few interactions we’ve had.” She grinned. “How about we take a walk and you can tell me more about my personality? I’m very curious about what else you think you know about me. Maybe you can share a little about yourself as well. If you’re going to keep showing up in my life while I am on this island, I’d like to know who I’m dealing with,” she teased.

Demetri was torn.I know I should say goodbye and walk away now. I never should have approached her. If I keep talking to her, I don’t know if I will be able to stay away. But there is something about her...

“After you,” he answered. So much for staying away…

SUN, SEA, & SMALL TALK ~Noelle~

As they walked along the beach, Noelle couldn’t help but notice how many women stared in their direction.Either I’ve grown a second head or, more than likely, they’re wondering why this gorgeous specimen is with me.But once she and Demetri got talking, she forgot about all of her insecurities. They talked a little more about his job as a sea captain, transporting people between the islands.

“28? I would have thought you were much older, since you seem to know so much about people,” Noelle joked, and the low timbre of his laugh made her weak in the knees.

“Are you saying I look old?” He nudged her arm.

“No, not at all. You look amazing! So good. I mean… you look 28.”Keep it together Noelle.
