“The food is outstanding! Of course, we get some of this type of food from Noelle’s family. And I love the people. Everyone is so friendly and affectionate. We aren’t used to hugs and kisses every time you greet someone. But here, you all do it, and it’s no big deal. It really made us feel welcome when we met Noelle’s family. It really broke the ice.”

“Broke the ice?” Yannis looked confused.

Caroline laughed. “Broke the ice just means it makes everyone feel more comfortable. We’ve all felt very welcome and comfortable. Haven’t we, Noelle?”

“Yes. Everyone has been great. Well, most everyone, except for that creep Giannis,” she shivered.

“Has he bothered you anymore?” Demetri asked, anger building up inside of him at the thought. Surely Giannis had left her alone after the warning he gave him.

“No, no. Curiously, I haven’t seen him since the night you intervened. It’s weird. It’s like he disappeared. But I’m not complaining. I’m pretty sure if we saw him, we’d have to bail Caroline out of some Grecian jail for beating the crap out of him.”

Caroline nodded and slammed her hand onto the table. “Hell yeah. No one messes with a Willow Street Girl.”

“Willow Street Girl?” Yannis asked.

“We grew up together on Willow Street. That is the nickname we gave ourselves,” Claire explained.

“I am curious. What was Noelle like as a little girl?” Demetri looked over at her and smiled.

“Sweet and kind, like she is now. And she was always running around and falling a lot,” Caroline teased.

“Thanks, Caroline.” A smile crept across Noelle’s face. “Have we told you about Caroline’s special notebook?”

Caroline slapped her hand onto the table again and chuckled. “I don’t think they care about a silly notebook. Now, Yannis, how long did you say you have known Demetri?”

The conversation continued, and the meal ended with everyone stuffed and happy. Demetri drove the ladies back to the hotel. They all thanked him and Yannis for a fun day, and the girls departed for their hotel room.

“I have never seen you look at a woman like you look at Noelle.” Yannis smirked and ran a hand through his hair.

“I look at her like I look at all beautiful women.” Demetri pulled away from the hotel.

“You are so full of shit, I am surprised it is not coming out of your ears.” Yannis popped the side of Demetri’s head.

Demetri sighed. He didn’t have a response. He couldn’t argue with the truth.

Chapter 22

BALLOONS FOR ALL ~Noelle~

The girls cleaned up after their day of donkey rides and hiking and had a quiet evening in.

Claire plopped down onto the bed next to Noelle. “So, Noelle, we didn’t have time to ask. Did Demetri take good care of you when you hurt yourself?”

“Yeah, did he kiss your boo-boos all better? Have you been compromised?” Caroline rolled out the English accent and then made a kissy face as she lounged on the other bed.

“No kissing. He just cleaned off my scrapes. But ahhh, I swear. That man touches me and my body turns to jello. Oh my gosh, I didn’t tell you. He took off his shirt to dry my skin, and I about died. Holy cow, is he sculpted. So many muscles. So many divots I wanted to lick!”

Caroline snorted.

“I mean it. So much sexiness in one man. I can hardly stand it. The night we were in the hot tub, I didn’t really get a good look. But today, wowsa! I am feeling so many weird sensations.” She stood up and paced.

Caroline and Claire looked at each other.

“It’s what the ancient philosophers call... desire. You’re horny.” Caroline laughed.

“Noelle, he definitely affects you. And you said you haven’t had those feelings before with other guys you’ve dated?” Claire asked.

“No, definitely not. This is so different. I don’t know how to explain it. I want more. To feel more. I, uh… well. You know what I mean?”This is so embarrassing. Caroline and Claire talk this way, but I don’t.This was all very new, and she didn’t quite know how to handle everything she was experiencing.
