“So, when I go back to the table, that is when you start the song. Okay? I want it playing when I reach her.” Demetri thanked his friend and hung up the phone.

“She does not know?” Yannis asked as he took a drink of his Metaxa.

“No, why would she? I have not told her. And if you ruin my surprise, I will kill you.” Demetri shook his finger at his friend. “And it helps that she does not speak Greek. If she were here now, she would not know what we are talking about.”

“Ha! You would try to kill me.” He flexed his muscles. “You do not have to worry about me, but your sister, on the other hand; she is the one I would be concerned about. She is crazy!” He twirled his finger by his head.

“I told Sophia to keep quiet. She is so happy for us; she does not want to do anything to ruin the surprise. But just to be sure, we will not see her before I propose…”

“Good idea. I cannot believe you are doing it. I am very happy for you, my friend. I knew the day you saw her on the boat this one was different for you.”
