Cord fell silent and lay back on the bed next to me. Reaching over his head, he readjusted part of his blanket nest under his head, forming a makeshift pillow.
“You don’t have to decide today. Like I said, we don’t have to do anything and if we do something condoms do exist and if I don’t knot up, I can pull out.”
Cord blushed and turned his head away from me for a second. His heartbeat pounded in my ears.
“Was that too much?” I asked.
“No,” he shook his head. “I was trying to chat with Starry over the group link but now I’m imagining you cumming on me. Thanks a lot.”
“Good or bad image?” I asked, rolling to my side.
He opened his mouth and shut it again before tucking his thumb into one of my belt loops and pulling me into him. His lips crashed against mine, warm, supple, and tasting of magic. One of his hands slid onto my face as if he wanted to hold me there forever. His lips parted against mine allowing my tongue to slip inside his mouth. He leaned in against me, the weight of his magic capturing the air in my throat for a second. I breathed out and sucked in his scent with my next inhale. Everything inside of me stood up to greet him. My magic reached out for him even as my dick hardened against his lean muscular belly. I rocked my hips, but Cord put a hand on my chest to stop me. I froze in place.
“Now that we’re both equally aroused, you can think about what you said and tell me if you think it was a yum or yuck for me. I have to call Starry so I can answer your den question.”
He swung his feet off the bed and my heart pounded in my ears keeping time with my dick. Cord left the room, dragging everything I ever wanted with him.
Chapter Twelve
Cord
Starry answered his phone on the first ring.
“Cord, do you need me to come home? I couldn’t get what you were saying over the group link,” he said in lieu of hello. “It’s either about coming or going. I’m just not sure which.”
“No. Not yet. I’ve got Blithe locked in the bedroom so we can talk,” I said, letting out a long slow breath.
The floater was back in the corner of my eye and I blinked a few times to make it go away. It shimmied over the window before disappearing when I looked at the front door instead. I needed to see Dara sooner rather than later.
“What? Locked in the bedroom?” Starry’s voice lowered to a whisper. “You do know this isn’t a kidnapping, right?”
“Oh, he’s not trying to leave. He’s locked in there so I can talk to you. He’s distracting. He asks too many questions and doesn’t wait for me to answer the first one before he moves on. So, he’s locked in the bedroom.”
“What were you trying to ask me over the group link?” Starry chuckled.
Relief flooded over me. He wasn’t going to ask for the details of which questions Blithe asked me.
“This is awkward,” I said, trying to buy myself time.
“Yes, you can mate at the house, Cord,” Starry said, whispering even quieter.
“I figured that, but how are we going to live?” I asked.
“What do you mean? Like literally or metaphorically or philosophically? Cord, I’m confused, friend,” Starry said, holding back a chuckle.
“Are we going to live together still?” I asked more directly.
“That’s up to you and Blithe. Our home is your home and even if you move out or away, that’s still true,” Starry said. “Are you and Blithe arguing about where to live?”
“No, we’re not arguing. He keeps distracting me, but I’m not that mad at him yet,” I said and then it was my turn to whisper. “Blithe asked me where I wanted to live when we had kittens. He said he can’t shield the whole town against my sire, but one room or house might be doable.”
Starry let out a long breath and I held mine while I waited for his answer.
“I think Marcus should be included in this conversation,” Starry whispered.
“What conversation?” Marcus’s voice came from somewhere in the background. “Is that Cord? Tell him I said congratulations!”
“He can hear you, I think,” Starry said. “Here, you talk to him, Marcus. Cord, I love you, but I think this is a question for him.”
