With his hand still in my pants, Hendrick pulls me up against him and angles my head back, kissing me. “You’re right, we’re fucking assholes.”
“Let me go,” I bite out. “Now.”
Jac’s gaze raises to meet Hendrick’s, but besides that, they don’t move.
“Let. Me. Go,” I say. “Blue. Blue!”
As if a switch flips, they both release me from and step back, allowing me to stand on my own. My breath’s heaving as something like hope starts to tingle and fizz in me. Hope mixed with wild anger. “You…you both…”
“We changed our mind,” Jac says.
“We came to our senses,” amends Hendrick. He sits on the long couch, pulling me on his lap, and Jac takes the seat next to him, easing one of my legs over his.
Even with their hands on me, even with their scents filling my nose, I’m still wrapping my head over the fact that they’re here. With me.
They want to be withme.
I’m melting, even if I want to hang on to my anger, I’m melting.
Jac sighs. “He’s right. Three days is a long time when you’re being a stubborn fucking moron.”
“We met up. Made another deal. We want to give this a go. You, me, Jac. If you still love us.”
Jac kisses me. “Please say yes you do. To all of that.”
I pull back a little from him, unsure if I heard him right. “You actually want to be with me and Hendrick?”
“If that’s the only way for me to have you, then yes.”
“And you?” I look at Hendrick.
“We’ll never be fuck-buddies or magically fall in love with each other, if that’s what you’re hoping for. And right now, friends is pushing it, but Jac and I know we can trust each other. Out of anyone in the world…along with you…we can trust each other. We know each other. And we love you. You’re our focus, if you’ll have us.”
“Because I didn’t take the jewels?”
Hendrick shakes his head. “We don’t fucking care, but it did drive home that you meant what you said about loving us.”
Something new and complex sparks in Jac’s eyes. Something I’ve only seen briefly and a few other instances before. “Will you take us, MG?”
Hendrick’s voice rakes over me next. “Both of us, Cat? This time, we’re coming to you as a package deal.”
We’re somewhere in the Pacific, and it’s a steamy night. My men are in suits, the kind made for this weather. I’m in a flowing cream gown that they picked out with the tiniest wisp of lace panties, even more delicate than that last pair.
These aren’t going to last the hour because there’s a mood. We’ve been here a week. Harry’s off with Vicky, and they’ll be back in Delacroix City before us.
But this mood… It’s like spice in the air, heady like sex. I find Hendrick and Jac bickering and arguing when I come out onto the ocean front villa’s giant veranda as the sun sets. It’ agorgeous night, and Jac owns the island, using one side as an exclusive resort and his own personal playground.
They stop arguing when I come out, and that’s when I realize Hendrick is holding a bag.
I know what’s in it.
The jewels.
My mouth goes dry.
They start to lay them out, including the fake Lover’s Delight necklace.
“What is this?”
